Default A guy at LAX (3220) got fired for a customer attack

I heard this guy got fired at LAX a few weeks ago for a customer attacking him. They said that he yelled back at the customer when the customer tried to grab him but the customer was right in trying to attack him.

What's up with that? Anybody hear about that?

I heard about this. Apparently the customer brought a vehicle back that was damaged. After the ticket monkey filled out the DX report he asked the customer to sign it, the customer refused. Finally after going back and forth with the customer the ticket monkey said that if the customer signed the DX then he would write on the DX that it was not his fault. The customer signed and asked the ticket monkey to follow thru with what he said. The ticket monkey then told the customer that said that just to get him to sign the DX and was not going to write on it that it was not his fault. The customer got pissed and attacked the ticket monkey. The ticket monkey apparently stabbed the customer (accidently) with a pen.

The employee should have been fired for this. Come on ESQI call (fingers crossed).

I heard the customer was upset that he may have been responsible for the damage to his rental (shocker?) and attacked the rep. The rep stabbed him in self defense.

Names please?

Wow!!! A ticket monkey????

Was the guy African-American? What kinda reference is that?

Also, what happened to the customer...I don't think that is fair. The customer should have been pentalized as well as the employee. How does that look....I can attack you but you supposed to stand there and get hit because you're upset (at a DX)...

Get the heck outta here!!!!!

"The employee should have been fired for this. Come on ESQI call (fingers crossed)."?????????

I heard about this incident as well..i heard the customer was upset and attacked the "ticket monkey(interesting term)" and stuck himself with a pen in the process..the employee reacted and got fired...i find it interesting that "the employee should have been fired" for not laying a hand on the customer....but hey, at enterprise the customer is always right, right? all for the sake of an ass-lickin esqi call?

Dude you are totally brain-washed!

TICKET MONKEY aka MT aka MANAGEMENT TRAINEE aka a dum dum anybody who writes up tickets all day so the big ups can make big bucks.

"African American"?????? Are you a racist? What kind of a question is that? haha, jk, it's cool, I was once a newbie to this ERAC world too. So no, 'monkey' is not in reference to a specific race or gender. I am wondering however, how you would go about "penalizing" a customer. That sounds fun. Perhaps 40 lashes in the wash bay. Or make them ticket monkey for a day. ha

I dont know the specifics of this incident, but I used to work at 3220. Management never stands up for their employees, no matter how much the customer was in the wrong. At LAX, ESQI is king at whatever cost. Even at the risk of burning out, or selling out your own employees.

Hopefully I can clear up my original post, the employee was fired for lying to the customer and not for stabbing the customer with a pen. The employee should have been fired for lying to the customer about how he was going to handle the DX, he said he was going to write on the DX that it was not the customers fault if the customer signed the DX. After the customer signed the DX the employee told the customer that he lied about what he was going to do and only said it to get him to sign the DX. To me that is pretty serious, even for Enterprise. If I was a branch manager and heard that I would have told the employee to leave the office and go home.

If the customer refused to sign the DX than the employee should have said good-bye and then let the Loss Control Department handle the situation from there. If a customer attacked me I too would do anything to defend myself, even if it meant stabing him with a pen.

I do not know what race the Employee was nor do I care. As mentioned in an earlier post the reference to "ticket monkey" is someone that is an MT. Feel free to do a search on this site and you will see that it is not in reference to any particular race such as African Americans.

As for the customer I would imagine that the DX will get taken care of some way or another and they might get a check from enterprise because of the stabbing. I dont agree with it but I live in the real world and a lawsuit will more than likely be filed against enterprise from the customer.
