My point is that although customer service is paramount, we shouldnt be trained to simply roll over whenever there is an issue.

I mean dont just throw money out the window for ESQI's sake. Sometimes there will be instances where it would make no good business sense to waive money, but MT's on up have been trained to be non-confrontational for the sake of ESQI.

I don't think it is an issue if throwing money out the window.. put most people who complain don't expect a lot of compensation. I don't care to waive 10%, waive a day, or whatever... that is what most people ask for. But someone who demands an entire rental for free for a flat tire (because they ran over a nail) will not get it. It is not justified. But it is rare that a customer will ask for a ridiculous freebee.
