Default Enterprise Sucks

This site is not for people who love your job with ERAC! If you do then great! I am happy for you that you like your job. You like working 50 + hour weeks. You like working holidays, weekends, even if Armageddon happened you would work it. That is awesome. You are going to move up, go fast, make money, use your degree is psychology, sociology, communications, marketing, history, english, etc. to rent cars.

And yes you who all still work for ERAC are right, I must be a slacker because I quit, I must have not been able to take it, I must have just been overwhelmed by the sheer mass amounts of callbacks, and phone calls to stay with Enterprise. God forbid anyone wants to leave the job to be teachers, god forbid anyone wants to leave the job to be service writers. You all that still work there must have such a great view on your pedestal that sits so high in the clouds and looks down on us lowly peasants who chose to leave our job. Why? Well because of a # of reasons;
-Maybe we didn't like the hours
-Maybe we didn't like driving around as shuttle drivers for our first 3 months
-Maybe we didnt like putting on 15lbs and losing our hair
-Or! Maybe just maybe we looked at ourselves in the mirror and realized 1 thing; We all spent a SHIT LOAD of money on college, and yes there is a lot of money to be made in ERAC, but there is a lot of money to be made in construction and as a garbage man too.

We are not asking that you join our "army" of those who quit. I am happy for you if you grill, stick it out, become and area manager, RRM, RVP and so on. Good luck.

I am just saying that for over $60k I spent on college I am not going to subject myself to a year as an MT, a few months as an MA, a few as a Assistant, a few as a BM, a few (unless your DT and then its a Decade) as a AM, and so on.

Yes you can move fast with this green giant, yes there is opportunity.

But you need to ask yourself is it for you?

So anyone who will send a rebuttal criticizing me let me say this;

-I am going to Med School, that is 3 times the amount of work you will do at Enterprise, and FAR more tests than your silly "grill"

- I will make a good amount of money eventually, maybe not in the 5 years it will take ERAC people to make, but HEY! At least I don't have to sell my soul and be some shady sales person who dubs foreigners only because they can't understand you (and no that is not the way it is, business ethics 101 folks does not say "take advantage of people who don't speak English")

-I will be making a difference..an ACTUAL difference. You provide a service, albeit an important one, but how many times has ERAC saved a life, or in a teachers defense, taught the youth of America how to grow??

-Lastly I will be able to go home, look myself in the face at night and be able to smile and say good job.

At ERAC all I could do is look myself in the face and wonder where to punch the next spot to wake the hell up.

So good for you if you a loyal ERAC employee are reading this. You work for a Rental car agency. I am sure when you were young, wondering what you wanted to be, you were so focused on being part of renting cars that your parents couldn't control you. But hey it is your life.

But rest assured, there will be a day when I need a rental, and I am happy that you guys are here. An old professor always said "the world needs ditch diggers too" Well I can think of no better ditch diggers than Enterprise Rent A Car Employees.

though he is a douchebag, this guy make a good point. i'm starting to notice it too. so far my roomates from college are a dental assistant, financial planner, software programmer, and teacher. and i work for enterprise. they go to bed every night knowing they made a difference in the world today, and i go to bed knowing i lied to customers all day long and know the next day will be a nightmare as well. to some people, that matters, to me it doesnt. i am just glad i have a job

Nobody who worked at ERAC would ever make it into medical school. I mean come on. Med schools in the Bahamas don't count.

Good for you. Med school is definately a HUGE challenge but it can be very rewarding. And you are right, it does take a lot of school. But it also takes a lot of your life (more than ERAC), but that is a sacrifice you choose to make. But I think you are over-glamorizing the proffesion. I have friends that are very successful doctors and I have learned thru them that there is ALWAYS politics, challenges and times when they question their own career. My point is you shouldn't put down anyone that is willing to go out and make a living, contribute to society, pay taxes and live their life. No, ERAC is not glamorous or life-changing, but I don't think anyone is claiming that it is.
Oh, and do some research on what doctors get paid. You will probably have nurses that make way more money than you as a doctor. You have to be the top of your field to make really good money, and by the sound of your post, I don't think you will quite make it.
