Unless things have changed in the last 2years, dress code in Hawaii is different from the rest of ERAC. Aloha shirts for men are allowed, but have to be tucked in & worn with dress slacks. For women you can wear a tailored muumuu or standard ERAC business attire.

The story behind the dress code is kind of funny.

When ERAC was going to open branches in Hawaii, they sent in a few corporate "scouts" to check out locations & to see if ERAC would be able to get market share. One evening they were at Gordon Biersch and an older couple came over to their table and asked them if they were Missionaries, of course the response was "No". The couple was asked why they were given that impression & the response was that the only people dressed in shirts & tie in Hawaii are usually Missionaries. Not the impression ERAC wanted to make.

Jack was told the story and he said he wanted to fit into the local business culture. Since ERAC is conservative & our dress code is very much like a banks, what do the bankers & other corporations have as their dress codes? The "St. Louis suits" were sent around to gather this information & guess what, no suits, no dress shirts & ties. A concession was made for the Hawaii group to dress as local business culture dictates with certain ERAC influences.

Whenever I have had to rent a car in Hawaii, I always loved to see them in "casual" attire.

The benefits are different in Hawaii as well, if I can dig up an old Benefits summary, I'll post more info. As for working at different branches, you may get transferred from island to island on occassion.

Hope this helps.

Here is an add on for the above post--
I wrote before I researched. I looked on the ERAC website & I found some Hawaii benefits info:
http://eracpeople.enterprise.com/index.asp
Click on Benefits Overview then click on Hawaii Benefits Eligibility. Over in related info click on Hawaii Health & Wellness.

Hope that helps.

I worked there recently and it sucked. The pay is horrible compared to other groups ( most Assistant managers make around 32,000 and in some groups that is the starting pay for MA's) and they hire whoever they can since the job pool is so small here. There are no perks like lunches, happy hour after work and the Christmas Party was horrible. You get 2 drink tickets and that even includes a glass of orange juice. They do not spend any money on their employees and you can't even spend money on accounts. IT's like working in the twilight zone there. From what I heard upper management wants out of there but they can't even get out until the numbers get better. You move fast to assistant since people are quitting all the time but the wait for Branch Manager and Assistant is a long time. People right now are going from MT to Assistants because they can't keep employees long enought that they are making people grill immediately so they can fill the assistants job.

As for the attire, guys wear Aloha shirts with nice slacks and shoes. Women are pretty the same as stateside - and no you can't wear muumu's.

So, I was partially wrong. I could have sworn the girl I rented from on Oahu had a tailored muumuu with a blazer over it. She had island style with a corporate touch.

When I go into banks ANYWHERE today (not just Hawaii) I see them working 9-5 and wearing golf shirts and dockers. Sometimes jeans on casual Fridays. Bank tellers get lunches and breaks. They seem to be having a good time in their workplace.

As soon as ERAC realizes what the banks are doing now, I'm sure they will be quickly switching over to keep up with the changes that have made in the corporate world...

...yeah, right.

If you work in Hawaii you will be broke as a motherfucker! They don't pay you what you're worth and they only want to promote you so they can pay you less than the last poor fucker who had your job. Someone told me this company was a pyramid and I was brainwashed and thought they were full of shit. Now I totally understand what they meant and I can hardly walk cuz my ass hurts so bad. Hurry though... grow your fleet so they can sweep you under the rug and pay the next guy half as much for working even harder. Next time I buy into a pyramid I think I'll go sell toilet paper and soap for fucking AMWAY!
