These are area get togethers that the area managers plan out. GP36 just started this and I can't say how good they are since I never attend any of them.

Are these more "mandatory" funtions you are "encouraged" to go? Couldn't get enough of those when I was at ERAC.

they used to plan these get togethers when i was part of group 36. they would always start at 10pm and were always an hour away from my house. i would get home at 1 or 2am after i drove to the other side of the island home drunk off my ass. then i would be at work 4 hours later hating life. i quit going to them after that and was looked at as an outcast. erac you suck and you want to make sure nobody lives a normal life. my new job pays us to go to functions and they aren't alcohol related. i also get a mandatory paid half hour lunch every day with lunch included. if you work for erac you owe it to yourself to check out the job market. don't buy into this company please...

My area manager used to have get togethers but not the typical "happy hour" stuff. I never felt it was mandatory though, and my AM never made it feel that way either. Still, it never made up for the lack of salary, did it?

Hell no it didn't! When I didn't show up for those things I was looked down upon for not being part of "the team." ERAC is a joke! Here in Hawaii they planned their manager's meeting early morning the day after Halloween. You usually work every holiday so why not schedule a mandatory meeting the morning after a night where everyone wants to go out. The people do not want you to live a normal life. They want you to divorce you wife and never have kids! The expect so much out of you but you cannot expect anything from them in return or you will be shunned.

My area manager used to have manager meetings for the area at 630am. I didn't show up to 1 of them. He tried to write me up once and I wouldn't sign it. I told him, more politely than this, if you want to have a work meeting have it during work hours. There was really nothing he could do to me. My branch and sattelites had the highest ESQi, and OP in his area. Hell I had the only branches that showed any growth, his area was 8% down. He would have a conniption, it was hilarious.

They used to schedule our meetings at 545 in the morning. These would usually fall on my day off which was great. These people want to do anything they can to assure you will not have a normal life. They burn you out and still expect more. God, they scheduled me to go to another island for a class on my day off and let me tell you what a joke that was! First, I'm totally exhausted from working over 50 hours that week. They wouldn't spend and extra 40 bucks so I could fly out of the airport 5 minutes from my house. So on my day off, I had to get up at 430am, drive an hour to the other side of the island, catch a flight, and be in the meeting my 8am. The meeting was boring as hell and there were all these managers pretending to be interested in what was going on which was a joke! Did i mention the meeting was 10 hours long? Locked in a room with no windows listening to a woman who sounds like a broken record!?! I new at this point I was quitting so I just sat there with a big smile on my face, dreaming of my exit interview!

So the latest Hawaii rumor... There have been so many people quitting over on Maui it is not looking good. They actually had 2 manager spots open at the same time and rumor has it that nobody from Oahu put in for it. One of which is the airport location which is the second largest branch in the state. I mean who in their right mind would move from Oahu to maui to make around 40k a year and be charged 3g's for every employee that quits. They ended up promoting two guys from Maui even though they have and ESQI of 50 or 60. That there shows me that they were desperate to fill these spots! The airport location now has 2 managers that none of the employees can stand. ESQI and morale are so low that the area manager is forced to run the front. Why would anyone want to work here I ask? Are we that desperate? Is it like this on the mainland?

Your cost of living is sky-high too. ERAC needs to step up the $$$$$$$.
