You can have the last laugh if you take the initiative to document the incident. It is called "hostile work environment" and there are labor laws in place to protect you. Bypass Lady D and proceed straight to the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission (ph. 586-8636) and file a complaint. The commission will then investigate your complaint. There are statutes of limitations so if there is more than once incident or a number of different complainants to substantiate his workplace demeanor, the much better it will be for all of you to substantiate pattern. The beauty about all of this is ERAC will have to take certain steps and measures while the investigation is on going to protect your personal interest as an employee. Their failure to do so or any adverse actions towards you as an employee by ERAC will fall into what is termed as "retaliation" and this is what you actually want to happen so you can go laughing to the bank. Remember the Indians can make life very difficult for the Chiefs only if they know how to correctly address matters. Do not go to Lady D to report any workplace issues because it will simply get swept under the rug. By taking this route, you will make Lady D actually work for her money and any incompetence on her part will be revealed in the course of the investigation and will ultimately result in her job secruity as well if certain procedures are not implemented by her on behalf of ERAC. Quit complaining and use the system and labor laws in place to protect yourself and get not only the last laugh, but a potential monetary settlement as well. Many "hostile workplace environment" cases have resulted in six figure (imagine not having to wait 6 years or until age 40, LOL!!!) and seven figure settlements her locally. Many of you are probably scared or reluctant for whatever reason to initiate a complaint, just analyze the whole situation ("big picture" in ERAC terminology) and consider that ERAC wasnt going to be a lifelong job to begin with so take the step and empower yourself. The best thing is for you folks to gather up more than one individual who have experienced the same demeanor from Coach Wheeler and file your complaints together.
