Think about it in this respect though...AM/BM make commission off the branch itself...City off city, area off area...every level above the branch level makes commission off a larger pool, right up to the RVP/GM. It's safe to say that if they have a great year, they really could make a shitton of money. Is the growth of the 80's/90's going to repeat itself? No, that would be naive. Is ERAC going to continue to be #1 in the world...yes. They have an extremely sound business plan, great operations standards, and despite SMALL instances of pissed-off customers, very high customer service ratings. I'm long since passed the kool-aid phase, I just really enjoy working for ERAC. The people I work with are great, the opportunities are great (if you're willing to move around to get promoted, etc.) and it still all comes down to how much you want to get ahead. You mentioned how their pay is based off a whole city, etc. Trust me, the more income that's out there, the smaller your actual comm % is. I was a BM and made a decent percentage. When I moved up to ARM, my area generated plenty of income but my percentage was SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER. The pay increase from BM to ARM was TINY. Didn't make me feel like I was actually successful. |

| Mathematically, a 700k salary is BS. If the RVP made a generous commission of 10%, that would mean the city made over 7 million. If you consider the lower man in the totem pole made 300k, the city had to have made 10million. Thats 10 million PROFIT! Obviously they dont pay their employees jack but their profit margin is pretty slim too. If RVPs make 5%, that means the city has to make 20million a year. Does anyone know their actual commission schedule? Take into consideration that car sales LOSES money and so many higher-ups are quitting. That hurts the bottom line and wouldn't an area manager see the light at the end of the tunnel? Or maybe they are realizing they are Andy Taylor's puppet |

| I know this as fact I am a current level 3 employee who has been an area manager and has worked at corporte. CRM and GRM are in a grey area. They typically get bumped to 150k or 10% higher than the highest area manager they are in charge of. RVP's, GM's and othe rlevel 4's do make great money. They get more than the standard commision that branch, assistant and area managers make. They get private stock in the company, as you all know no one ever retires from enterprise you just get fired, it just depends on how long you hang atround. But a region with 2000 cars that did 250 net a month would equal 500k profit a month and 6 million a year. They also have a "bogie" number that if they hit they get a huge bonus. Until last year they also got a 13th commision check. this was figured by taking the average of their 12 commision checks fot they year. so yes they get paid. dwwsej |

| AM = 35K BM = 40-45K ARM = 55-60K CRM = 75-80K RVP = 100K GM = 150-250K Get your head out of the clouds. Car rental is a low margin industry. No one is making the ridiculous numbers you all imagine. Why do you think they keep their income hidden from you? It adds to the mystique in this hurry-up-and-get-promoted bull$hit environment. The more vehicles under you the smaller your commission. The Taylors aren't paying anyone nearly as much as you all imagine. Just look at their lifestyles. If you made $700K a year you'd be living in some of the more posh neighborhoods of Indian Hill and not Mason! |
