| I's say the situation is going down the sh****r. When you go by the delete lot all you see are banged up old trucks and no cars. I guess that means Enterprise is hanging onto crappy cars and severely reducing their truck fleet. Truck will never be able to compete with Penske/ Ryder. The only way truck gets business is by dropping their pants on rates and using their overworked MT's to deliver to Nowhere, OH. Good luck in that division!!!! |

Nevertheless, things DO suck in truck as I can attest personally. I worked in a different group, but reading these threads is like deja-vu! It's like Minnick were MY GTM!! ARRGHH! Penske and Ryder were all too happy to let us have the crappy 1-2 day rentals and beat the snot out of us on the longer-term renters. We got most of the deals, but the trade off was that we had to sacrifice virtually all the profitability. We were probably making no more than 2 or 3 cents on every dollar. Growth went WAY down in years 2 and 3, and actually was negative right before I left. Pisser of it is that they actually let the guys who BUILT truck leave! These are the guys who started the damn thing and who have ALL the knowledge of the vehicles (believe me, a commerical truck is NOTHING like a car, and if you treat them like cars, they will make your life miserable). I have seen no less than 6 ERAT trucks broken down on the side of the road since I left, and even though I know we had break downs when I was there, I can't help but wonder how good their maintenance is now that so many good people have gone. |

| It is scary to think they are being run by two incompetent area managers and one clueless GTM. One of which area manager who can't seem to afford pants that are able to fit him properly, who spends all his money and time on cigarettes, and the other one who aimlessly walks around on the phone prentending he is solving problems!!! I left about six months ago from the division, and it has been interesting to watch others follow, one by one, and each time the response has been, "We are an 8 billion dollar company and we survived before they left, and we will continue to be successful without them." Keep it up and one day you'll they'll be saying the same thing to you when they pack your crap up in a box and show you to do the door because you can't even keep a 23 year old employee to work for you because of your lack of management skills! |

| What happened to Minick? I used to work for him in Dublin-area and thought he was pretty cool and was the "best" area managers in terms of working with his people (not running when cars or assistance was needed). Did he lose his way or something??? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote:

He lost his touch of the business to say the least. He went from Golden Child to Step Child!!!! |

| Blah...blah...blah yes Minick was good up in Northern Ohio. Look what has done with his time down here. People despise him for his unwillingness to throw him self to the problem at hand. There are two truck spots in the city and one of them would be harder to find than an Ethiopan with a popsicle. Get real!!!! What was Enterprise thinking with this shit? Who are they attracting to this division but suicide cases and three day MT's. I remember almost being hooked on the truck dream in my third day of training, but then remembered the company I worked for was called Enterprise-Rent-a-Car. |
