Default Corporate Training Manager

Several weeks ago I Rented a car in Bradenton, Florida from enterprise. I was given a weekly rate of $229.99. I thought this was an ok amount. I ws NOT told at that time that the car could not be taken OUT OF STATE. I am a training director for a large corporation and find myself any given week in Georgia, Texas, Alabama etc.

I was called to Savannah Georgia that week. I found out when I was in Savannah, that my new vehicle was in. It was brought to Savannah by one of our employees.

I turned the vehicle in at the Savannah Airport. I was told I would have to contact Bradenton Florida where I rented the car. I called Bradenton and was told that I SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN THE CAR OUT OF STATE. I mentioned this was the first I had heard about this. They then told me they would have to sell the vehicle I was rented to the Enterprise in Savannah, and that our company was liable for $2,000 for this opversight. I protested and was given the name of the area manager MR. BRIAN DAIGNAULT (941) 302-3074, I called and Mr. Daignault mentioned that instead of $2,000 it would be a charge of $500.00. In the end I was still over charged as my credit card was charged a total of $1,032.55. I am attempting to fight this flagrent misuse of my credit card. If I should not have taken the card out of state I should have been told so. These people are assholes period.
I am very upset. If anyone can help as far as a number or person to call to help get this mess fixed please do not hesitate to call.

Thanks,

Never using ENTERPRISE again,

Larry Riggs

Larry,
contact the RVP for that area and explain to him the situation. I worked for ERAC for 4yrs and the wheel that squeaks the loudest gets the oil. The last thing that any Area Manager wants is for his RVP or GM to get wind of it. These upper level managers will write it off to the branch that rented you the car. They would rather do that than to waste any of their time. Anyone out there know who is the RVP for this region Bradenton, Fl? If so give up the info and lets help this man out.......

Whats the $500 for? it shouldn't cost the group you brought the vehicle
to any money to sell it. It sounds like a simple mistake. Do yourself a
favor call the RVP, this area manager is a dumbass! This is why ERAC
sucks!

what i don't understand is how it is erac's fault when a customer says they were never told, when you leave the branch, you get a pick copy of the contract that states everything clearly asshole. the problem with you whining bitches is the when you come in to rent the car, you act as if you are so important and are too busy to actually listen to what the rental agent has to say. the customers always "yes" the rental agents just so they can get on the road, and then it's erac's fault when you say you didn't know you had to match the gas, couldn't leave the state, that the cdw was a per day charge...honestly, if maybe customers didn't treat erac employess like burger flippers at burger king and actully treated them like the college educated people that they are, then there woudn't be this many discrepencies. the problem with you cheap bastards(who book an ecar just so you get the free upgrade) is that you look for anyway to get money off your bill... for god sakes do you go to blockbuster and ask for half your money back beacuse the movie wasn't as good as you thought it was going to be??? ...no you don't ....moral of the story...pay attention or read the contract you lazy bastard.............by the way ,you aren't as important as you think you are...

IN addition to calling the RVP, call corporate headquarters in St. Louis. Tell them that you have a corporate account and you WILL TAKE IT SOMEPLACE ELSE. This should get them hopping. If someone calls St. Louis with an unsatisfactory rental experience, they will probably comp the whole thing. As the previous poster stated, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. I know of a couple of folks who lost their jobs just because corporate got an "irate phone call". Good Luck, over and out.

This is the wrong arguement your picking to fight. This seems like a simple misunderstanding from the customer to the branch. In this case the area manager is a dumb ass for trying to charge this guy $500 for a simple mistake that could be fixed for free! I do agree what with your saying about customers not listening though. I honestly don't think that happened in this situation.

I guess it would have been smart to call the branch and ask them if it was ok to drop the car in another state. Then they would have told you about the drop charge and you most likely wouldn't have done what you did, but I guess thats too much to ask and I'm sure you are not accepting any resposibility for that. Typical.

I agree though on the contract it states what states you are authorized to be in. if the branch had to get the car $ 500 is not that far off. $1/mile is cheap actually when you have to pay two people to get it, down time on the car, gas, and depreciation on the car and that is to break even. this is a mistake most of the times made by the customer but it is enterprise's responsibilty and "Enterprise is a customer service company who happens to rent cars" quote from andy taylor himself... you can get this refunded in a heartbeat, hands down call corporate and you will have the money refunded. unfortuntley the customer is always right. however i agree that customers hold our jobs in their hands. you don't run the business customers and accounts run it, at least they think so because they usually get away with more then any other comapany i have ever witnessed.

common enterprise quote when this happens for the branch manager who has to refund this and bend over is " this is a one in a million customer/situation" but it feels like more then that. write off to make happy.
