We need to do something to make ourselves profitable again. I heard there was an upper management guy, not chip at Admin making like 500K a year, who could this be? why don't they get rid of him.

The second man in charge in the group usually is the controller so I would guess that is who is making the jack.

Why does'nt Chip employ what most other GM's do? Save a buck and get someone more equipped for the job, that is how business works is'nt it. you do not maintain success by floating a bloated paycheck, when there is no positive result from it. It would seem a changing of the guard is in order on the admin side.

Pat directed me to this book, Good To Great, he said when he told me about it that all the GMS were reading it. I believe this book would serve group 43 if it was re-read. It would appear the this group has been thrust into the "Doom Loop" over the last 3 to 4 years, as described by Mr Collins. Many people who were on the Enterprise bus have been pushed out and enough time has not been relegated to actual improvement. Although there are some egos out there and sometime a Hurricane can make performance of a group seem spectacular, don't count on this. What can be counted on is consistent leadership, commitment and the slow turn of the fly wheel. Remember crawl, walk, then run. Its a shame people of the like of JR in city never had the chance to get his City to Great, I am sure the recent dom loop decision has brought the numbers to piss poor, so I hope the new city manager has time to make a difference. Please stop the Doom Loop, someone in high leadership read "Good to Great" and live by it, lets get the positive progress started. Does anyone care to start this flywheel?
