Yes that is the best when I'm talking to an immature and ignorant person. Please stop, you are embarrassing yourself. Try expanding your vocabulary and opening up your mind because your intelligence is lacking and your responses are dismal.

Area managers when I started had 600-700 cars and were all making $110-$150K per year and were the real swinging dicks of the company. Yes, they rented cars, but they were truly in charge of their businesses. ERAC got bigger, got regional managers, ie Mia and the responsibility and size of fleets shrank. When I was promoted, $70-80K was the norm for a starting area manager, and that was good money...I didnt know what I would be subjected to behind the scenes and what I would be forced to sell to my accounts and employees to keep my job and position. I thought ERAC was all there was and really did believe the dream. One thing leads to another and you wake up one day realizing that all of your time and life for that matter is spent on or near the job. Your wife sees how unhappy you are and the next step requires a move to Ohio or Nebraska to make over $100 grand, wow. To set the record straight, Glass made his own decisions and built his resume by staying. He will make more money in the future by listing a management position on his resume rather than a trainee that quit his job. Funny comments honestly, laughing stock and all. My new life is happy, without too much drama, and all up to me. I wish you all well, whether we got along or not. Those are my thoughts, and this is a great site, bashing, poop, or whatever you all want to talk about. Oh yeah, and stop bashing on Matt, let me remind you that he made it to the upper managment level in a multi billion dollar corporation. Washing cars or dounut drops or whatever, he did what it took. When and if you make it higher in corporate America, you will understand and you will have people under you that bash on you.
I’m constantly amazed how people at Enterprise refer to Area Manger positions as Upper Management. The term upper management typically refers to Director Level and above. According to the rest of the “corporate world” Area manger is at best a middle management position. I’m not saying this to point out an error in fact or to mock the person that originally made the post. I’m saying this to point that Enterprise has manipulated their employee’s perceptions of the possibilities for advancement at ERAC. The terms Manger or Management are to liberally applied to mundane and juvenile positions that truly have nothing to do with being a manger. The MT position is a joke, guess what you are a sales person the exact same as a car salesman or the woman that helps you buy you cool blue shirt at The Men’s Warehouse. MA guess what you’re an MT, way to pass the grill. Store Mangers and Assistant Mangers ok now we have tittles that fit, you are officially on the same playing field with people who manage McDonalds. Look, here is the point to my long winded speech. The skills you are going to learn at ERAC translate directly into sales jobs and management of very rigged compartmentalized sub structures (Retail and Warehouse Management roles) no true “cooperate jobs”. If you are interested in true management then work for a corporate sales team at a company like IBM (they have a very large presence in Seattle), American Express (offices in downtown and Bellevue), Apex (they are multi national tech recruiting company) or work for a financial boutique like a Moss Adams. Oh the mortgage industry loves people from Enterprise because they can sell. Hey all I’m saying is look around and see if you’re happy with ERAC. For those of you who have not drank the Cool Aide don’t worry there is life outside of ERAC.

I just have a couple questions, what is a manger?....you mention it several times, and what is a "cooperate job?" Other than bashing on your grammar, which seems to be some people's only way to respond, I do agree with what you are saying. Enterprise's levels of middle management contradict basic business models, however, with the way they are setup, they need that type of control so they can micro-manage the hell out of everyone. You need to spend a good hour of your day explaining why you spent $80 on doughnuts last month when the company average is $72.

Good points. The corporate world line made me laugh at well. Erac is nowhere near the corporate world. It's called RETAIL any way you look at it. HH or whatever they call it is getting closer. Still it's nowhere near "true corporate" America. Get out and you will see. Those of us that left, you know what I'm talking about. I got to middle management in 1 year at my present job. This 5 + years is a bunch of BS and props on those points.

C'mon people, are we going back to this stupid grammar and spelling thing? This is getting really old.
Fish, I never worked with you, but I think you did a decent job, let them say what they want. Trackwell, nice way of letting your area down, being in a backoffice, I can tell you (which you know anyways), they could need you right now out there. Now Mia has to deal with that.
Go Seahawks
Peace

I could tell it's getting old because you are an idiot. It's tough to read a post like yours and I wonder if you even graduated high school. You must be a car prep. Maybe a branch manager, they are synonymous.

I concur on this one. What the hell is this sentence supposed to mean..."Trackwell, nice way of letting your area down, being in a backoffice, I can tell you (which you know anyways), they could need you right now out there." Go back and check under the seats for used condoms if you are a car prep, and if you are a branch manager, you need to get busy explaining why you spent $74 on pizza last month.
