Steve was a really good friend to me and my husband. I think that he did realize that some of his behavior was wrong, and did make some changes. The thing with Steve is that he really does mean well, just sometimes comes out wrong. As for Amy shes a smart, talented girl. If she doesn't like her job she has no reason to stay. She can go out and get another job very easily so she must be staying for a reason. |
DD...always liked you, and for the most part I agree with much of your posts. Steve made many mistakes and he could be quite the asshole to work for at times. However, he was also the one who helped me get promoted and get further along in my career when I was employed there. There is no doubt in my mind that he loves his career and he means well for his people. Too bad his employees couldn't pick up on the fact that he is just fucking around and wants people to get better.
On the other hand, ERAC IS an evil corporation and it makes me laugh when I run into current employees who are still believing that they are going to be the next area manager making 6 digits. Don't get me wrong, 6 digits is a good amount of income, but it is not so far fetched that other hard working people can achieve it through a different avenue. By the way, most area managers are not making six digits...that's a big laugh.
DD, I'm glad that you are doing well, but I don't think you should credit ERAC for making you a great employee. You could have taken your work ethic to any other company out there and you would have been awarded more financially for your hard work. ERAC pays people strictly on a point system that leads to more recognition. The more dub you sale, the more points you get. The more sellups you have, the more points you get. The tighter your fleet and the higher you fleet grows, the more points you get. After you end up getting the post points throughout a certain period, you are finally promoted. However, you are awarded only with the recognition of a higher position, but the result usually ends up being more work, more responsibility, less pay.
ERAC fucked you. They treated you good because you put up with it so well and you were a good employee and you could get the job done. I'm glad to see that you are no longer with the company.
