I’m a head hunter for a multinational corporation. For those of you who don’t know what that is I hire people, I find qualified people and give them jobs. When ERAC Area Managers apply for jobs they don’t ask for six figures. The last 2 area mangers whose resumes have crossed my desk asked for $50,000 and $60,000 respectively. I know working at ERAC can feel draining but why would someone leave a job that paid them supposedly $100,000 and ask for 50 grand less? It’s just a question all you “MTs” should ask yourselves before you drink the Enterprise Cool Aid. Area managers are very vocal about how much they make but has one ever proved it to you? Ask to see a W2 or more than just there best paycheck.

I used to work at Enterprise and I still have friends that work there. They did not trick any of us into signing the contract and agreeing to rent cars for a living. What the company is guilty of is lying about the opportunity that they present. Guess what a 50k after 3 years sucks. Even if you factor in the “company car” (because a Chevy Aveo kicks ass) it is still not worth it. I’m not bashing the company I just saying once you leave it feels like someone has taken a blindfold off. Some of the people who work at Enterprise should work there that type of job is all they can do. That being said many of the people that work there are supremely talented and would do well to find themselves new jobs. I advise any of you to put your resumes out there. Put them on monster you can make them confidential so that no one can see your name. If you can succeed at Enterprise than you can succeed at a company that you’re not embarrassed to work for and a company that pays you what your time is worth. Enterprise sends pamphlets to your parents telling them how you are not wasting your life. Dose Microsoft or General Electric do that?

I took your advice and sat down with my Area Manager and asked to know the truth about the oportunity long team financially. I asked to see their W2 and it was at $86k year to date. I felt bad asking, but feel alot better knowing that there is potential. This job is not for everyone, but either is any other job. If we where all Ivy Leage or super amazing talented people either athletically or entertaining, then we would be making millions. The majority of us are regular c to b students that cared more about a good party then devoting every last second of our time to be great. You can knock this job because it wasn't for you, but at 3 years(1 year simply learning the ropes) and making $50k is not bad at all for normal people. Again, its each to their own, but any of you doubting the pay, just ask and they will show you.

Look, Enterprise is a great company to work for. I have been treated really well and I make a lot of money. I have been promised a promotion that should be coming my way really soon. Yes I work long hard hours but it is all worth it because someday I will be making a ton of money running several branches. I have not been brainwashed and I do my job better than anyone here and someday I will be rewarded for it. Granted I have been a car prep for three years now but I was told we all started in the car prep area. I seriously doubt I will be washing cars for another three years....maybe only two years. You guys couldn't hack it....face that. Your kids will be asking my kids if they want french fries with their burger.

I sat down with an area manager and ask to see his/hers W-2'S. They showed me $325,000.00. At least I feel a little better about things now. Granted I am a MT making $35,000.00 and I will probably never be an area manager....Ever, but at least I feel a little better. I will just continue to bust my ass and make him richer.....I think that would be fair. I'll wash the rigs and he can stand there and tell me how to do it.....Area Managers work really hard. I admire them....They're cool. I think washing cars in a dress shirt and tie makes a lot of sense...It tells the public we are professional at what we do. Viva la ERAC.

Google, my mistake if its not a W2. And its not b/s, the paycheck we get show's your income for the month and current year to date. And maybe I'm small time, but $86k for the entire year would be fine by me. And maybe another small time factor is that the $35k I will make this year is completely fair to me. I came out of college not knowing anything nor having any real skills in the work place, and I have no real choice but to work my way up. But at any rate, by you being an Asshole really only proves that this is a good company that didn't want you in it and I hope we never keep people like yourself. I read many of the posts and some people are wanting to know who you are and I would recommend that you don't disclose who you really are. The fact of the matter is that if people know who you really are, then they will all realize that these opionions, you very actively post, are from someone they will laugh at and have low opionions of. And all your time and effort here will be a waste, because no matter what the opionion given, it is worthless if it comes from an idiot.
