Just started a few months ago and I am suddenly realizing what a huge mistake it was. I had a high paying job that i left for a better opportunity and at this point I would have stuck it out and waited for another recruiter to call. Are they for real with some of their upper management? They are complete idiots. I just got a new one and they (I won't give away the sex) are ridiculous and I can't figure out how they even got to where they are. I was promised advancement within a few months because of my background and I get there and now I have to get powerpoints, matrix points, blah blah just to take a stupid test to get promoted?! Give me a break. I'm already searching for another job.
I can't stand these hours-even though I did work more, but it seemed I had more free time. And what is with this frigging pay? $30,000 to start?!? We are in Connecticut last time I checked and I haven't seen an apartment lower than $1000 that wasn't in the ghetto.
I see that most of you have stayed 2 years, but there is absolutely no way. I have an extremely expensive college education to pay back-I can't take being broke every month. Where else did you guys go? And how do I keep my sanity until I get the hell out?

OH NO! ERAC grabbed another poor innocent person just trying to make a living! I'm glad you found this website when you did. I never knew about it but If I had I would of left sooner. I was able to stay at ERAC for 2 years because for the first year I still lived at home b/c I was just out of college. Then the second year I lived with my boyfriend (now fiance) and he paid the rent and most of the bills. My pathetic ERAC check paid for stupid stuff like gas, groceries, and little utilities like cable and stuff. I was never able to save a dime when I worked there. Since I have left ERAC I got engaged, bought a house, have a nice savings account, got my credit back on track, reconnected with friends and family, starting eating right, and taking care of myself again (I constantly had to cancel dentist and doctor appts to accomodate ERAC). ERAC really brings your whole life down the tube. After ERAC I got a job for a MA computer software co. I make a lot more money and work mon-fri 9-5 and I get to work from my home 2 days a week. To be honest with you...being at ERAC for so long did give me some experience with cust service and other things which helped me get my current job. To keep your sanity, work hard, dont let BMs and AMs push you around and just play their stupid game until you can get out. Good luck. If are looking for a new employer pls register and send me a private message. I'll send you some info on who I work for now.

Your situation sounds much like mine, unfortunately I was already out of college with another job before I started here. I look at some people much like me and wonder how they put up with it. I can't stand the check by check or barely having gas in my car because I can't afford it. I just throw up my hands everyday and ask "Why did I do this?!" I will register and get in touch!

Wow..imagine that...having to get power points and be on the matrix. Did you never suspect this was a SALES position where you have to prove yourself? I know the hours suck, and that's why I left after 3 years. I do beleive, however, that a person like you belongs more in a desk job, like customer service at Price Chopper. Where you can sit on your ass at a desk and go home at 5pm.
I suggest you suck it up and learn how to apply yourself to your job. Put in some effort, make a name for yourself within the company, and then if it still sucks...quit! Thats what I did, but at least I got up to branch manager before realizing this wasnt for me

Default It's funny to me...

to listen to the bitching and complaining of ex-employees. I can clearly see why you didn't cut it and didn't get the praise of the performing employees and now hold a grudge. ERAC does a very good job of letting you know right up front the hours you will work and the time it will take to make money with the company. They make it clear that you need to sell and drive customer service and in order to be successful YOU MUST PERFORM. The company is better without all of you. Trust me!

I do believe that I was told that it was a 9-5 40 hour work week when I interviewed with no mentioning of sales whatsoever. I worked a 60 hour work week on average, and a 80++ during Christmas at my previous job, so please don't assume you know my work ethic. I feel that anyone who puts the time into college and gets out deserves a good job because they paid their dues-they don't need to start all over and be hussled by a company. You quit for your own reasons, and others are finding their's to do the same, so don't look down on them.

I actually haven't quit and at no point would ERAC say it's a 9-5 when the branches are open, at minimal, 8-6. And no mention of sales? What did you think you were going to do, sit at a desk or drive around all day? How else would you make money as a company other than selling and how would you drive sales without setting performance standards. I'm good with you quitting, but before bashing the company for what it is, maybe you should have looked into it a little more before taking the job.

lololol at calling an erac rental job a sales position
seriously lol
dub sales amount to less than 10% of a branches profit
pennies in the bucket, a net other minor profit

the real sales is moving up in the company and selling the bullshit to your underlings.
selling the dream, climbing the pyramid
99.99% of real sales jobs pay around 10-15k more right off the bat
this is a retail position
