Re: WTF Intranet They don't want you to be able to get onto the internet. Cults don't want you exposed to the harmful information of the outside world. Haha I remember it was a big deal when we found out we could get on Wikipedia. From what I can recall the only other sites not blocked (unless you had a manager's clearance code) were weather.com, mapquest, and, of course, enterprise.com and erac.com -- both of which are probably set to operate at full speed. What a shitbag of a company. Remember this is the same place that was still using MS01 for email two years ago. I guess since the dress code puts you back into the '50s it is only fitting that the technology puts you back into the '80s. How stupid do you feel having to fix that 1985 dot-matrix contract printer every time it busts up? I think the whole thing behind the lack of internet access is to avoid any distraction from dealing with the day's worth of backward-ass morons (customers, dealership/bodyshop employees, insurance adjusters). After all, if you're reading espn.com, how can you place those daily calls to your wonderful cash deals that managed to fall $500 behind? But of course you can mapquest their crack house address so you can do the drive-by. Just make sure there are cops in the vicinity! |
