For 49ers and all I left Enterprise last Fall and my life has been better ever since. It also made me realize what it was about ERAC that urked me so much and I finally figured it out. My experiences in the company were very similar to everybody elses on this board. I was hired as a MT, got put in a branch with terrible ESQI, and few employees, and was expected to "rise to the occasion" which means save our asses. From day one, I didn't buy into the bullshit. I never went to my New HIre Dinner or anyone else's for that matter. I skipped just about every area meeting there was, I refused to be BCAM when they first "promoted" then "asked" then "told" me to do it. I did all in my power to not do eveyrthing they told me to do. After awhile, I was amused by it and kept pushing it more and more. At that point, I knew I was eventually going to leave and figured it would be fun to push it. I then bluffed that I had another job offer, and put in my 2 weeks notice. My area manager freaked out and took me to lunch, by the time it was over I was given a week's vacation in return, I agreed to stay with the company I was going to stay with the whole time. I got back from vacation and even I thought maybe this will re-focus me and I will start to like ERAC. Nope, about a month later, I got called in on a day I called out sick, swear to God! So I figured I would keep it up. I skipped another area meeting and my area manager confronted me about it and I just shook my head and he never did anything about it. I took my skills test and didn't study for one minute and finished the test in like 10 minutes, I wanted to see if they would actually fail me, they didn't, they gave me an 80 and never emailed my score to anyone. Eventually, I put in my two weeks, never went to the exit interview and that was that. What the whole experience made me realize was that Enterprise is unique in the way they do business. They don't make money off of the customer, they make money off of you, the employee. They will make a 78 year old customer drive a pick up truck, by they won't fire a kid that any other company would have canned five months ago. In the begininng of your employment, they want you to go to the GM"S big bad house and see how much money he makes. Stay up and watch one of those late night info mercials, they do the same thing. You don't have to sell yourself to ERAC, they try to sell themselves to you. The employee is target market and once you are on board, you can sell their crap to someone else. Its amazing and brilliant. They show you how much money you aren't gonna make right in your face, and you eat it up. All I can say to those still there is do the math! You are making MALL money and putting in WALL STREET hours. My area manager told me to my face that he married his wife because she worked for ERAC and "understood" the lifestyle. Are you serious????? Wake up ERAC employees ERAC isn't selling rental cars, they are selling identity.....to you. If you lack any personal identity whatsoever and want somebody else to tell you what you value, grab an application. If you want to make your own mark in life and do it on your own terms, while maintaining some sort of integrity and not lie to people for a living, get out of ERAC asap! |
