This is probably Jason Fowler (GM of GP49) posting this thread thinking he is going to get some dirt on his group.

Wouldn't doubt it. Probably thinks he can try and bust someone.
Man, Fowler is such an ass!
And he loves those strip clubs...

I am current BM, and I have rented another groups car more than once. One time I did a legit contract, but tagged a car in bs on books. The next time I rented another groups car on a 2 day rental for $120 bucks cash.

So easy to get caught doing that. I was an area manager and we were given a report from accounting that showed all voided tickets in our area. We then had to follow-up to our city manager on it after we checked out with the branch the reason for voided ticket.
Not to smart to do that.

The way to not get caught is just hand write a blank ticket and destroy it after cars comes back, no evidence that way.

When I was an MA on New Year's Eve (Saturday night) we went to the branch drunk, took two Mini Vans without renting them and left them in Baltimore that night because we were too drunk to drive back. We forgot where we parked them and spent all day Sunday looking for them.

I also used to rent to this really hot girl on her cousins credit card and she would sign his name. She was only 20 also and wrecked the car one day so I closed her ticket, left it far away on the parking lot and then a few days later made it look like it was hit on the lot and OXd it.

i was at a distant branch, hundreds of miles away from HQ
a lot more fraud could have been committed had i been less scrupulous...in retrospect i should have, seeing how bad they hosed me when i was "let go"
but if their was a problem with this particular tkt, i would have said i prewrote it and the CS never came in
foolproof

Your group probably didn't check as hard as they could or follow procedure. Our Group was so anal about it.
Every voided ticket was investigated like you wouldn't believe partly b/c it accrues income and them takes it away after it was voided.

The policy is every voided ticket can never be thrown away. It must have VOID written on it with black sharpie and filed with daily tix. It is them filed by the contract # it was assigned and sent to ADMIN just like a regualr ticket. So when the voided ticket report is given the first thing that is done is search for the ticket. If the ticket is gone then the manager is given the third degree. Then all the information is retained in the computer even though the ticket is voided so the renter can be contacted, look up unit history, back check the miles on the car etc. We actually once called the renter to ask abou the rental on a suspicious voided tix to find out if they rented car.

Sounds crazy but we had to do all that, our GM was paranoid and didn't trust anyone. Our city manager then required a detailed report of our findings for every voided ticket.

Don't think for a second that it's that easy to get away with a voided ticket deception. If your group wants to find out, they will.

Still safe to just hand write black ticket, way to much evidence out there.

good advice, and thankfully i no longer work with the company...being so distant, i also had a fun time taking various cars home as a MA...i got carried away with it and really racked on the miles! i was always real worried about getting in a accident, or having admin find out someway...but they never did.
my group was slack big time
