You would be surprised how different regions of the country vary. I moved to NC and I wouldn't say there is a culture shock but you can tell that the family values, religion, business culture and infrastructure vary even though I was a few hours away previously. The other thing is that each group is treated as it's own company and to work your way up in a company, learn accounts, people and the way things are run kinda make you feel like you are first in line for a position. But if someone is to be accomodated just because they were a manager previously pisses of local employees (trust me). I have a buddy who is an ARM and a manager was moved into the spot in his area from out of state. His employees as well as people who wanted to put in for the spot were pissed and he actually lost face because they felt he said to them "I could care less about you." That's not what he did but it is not intent that effects people but impact.
