Any ERAC lover will never answer the question you asked: Given what you encouraged your employees to do, can you please tell me how you square this with your employer’s "Founding Values" such as "Personal honesty and integrity are the foundation of our success" and "Customer service is our way of life"?

They won't answer this because they either don't know the answer or they know their actions totally contradict the core values and will avoid answering. The funny thing about ERAC is that they really pound on you to memorize the core values. You have to memorize them in training, you have to memorize them to GRILL, and your douchebag RVP or RRM will ask you to name them randomly. But when you actually work at the branch, the core values go out the window.

Oh my god! This is amazing. They force you to remember the founding values and then blatantly abandon them in everyday use?

I'm no psychiatrist, but this sounds like a clear sign of mental illness. Enterprise has a very disfunctional culture.

Doesn't someone occasionally pipe up from the back of the room and say, "Uhh, doesn't that violate those founding values that you made us memorize?"

This further confirms for me that Enterprise is rotten at the core. I'm now really, really motivated to either force them to change their ways or go out of business. As a nation, we can do better than this.

I always figured Failing Enterprise was the ad for "This is your brain on Failing Enterprise".

I have to admit some cheeky delight at these recurring descriptions of the discussion board as being "addictive". I actually spent a lot of effort designing it to be exactly that. I thought long and hard about what would make it addictive and what would tend to prevent it from becoming addictive.

I've created intellectual crack cocaine!

Unfortunately, in a bit of Frankenstein irony, I find myself addicted to the discussion board. I've got the monkey on my back, MonkeyGirl!

Of course, every now and then, somebody will speak up. And guess what happens to that person? Blacklisted! Bad attitude! Never get promoted! Either fired or forced to quit! ETC...

Personal integrity means you are honest with yourself...not the person in front of you. so if you feel that the best way to run a business is to over promise, and you believe in it, not only are you being honest with yourself, but you will get promoted for making the company money. people keep forgetting that this is a SALES job. Yes, some people will not be happy with your service. They are called "collateral Damage". Even the government has this.

Truly classic.

However, I question it's relevance. Is this not a known FACT that happens in every region/city/area etc?

This is par for the course. You could change Steve Weidners name to just about 99% of city managers or RVPs.

gritz....ymmmmmm

In my old region ( 51DD ) it was a well known thing that as soon as you get promoted to BM, at your first branch manager meeting ( once a month ) the RVP ( Rick Spooner ) will make you get up in front of everyone, make you bow and recite word for word the mission statement. God help if you messed up !!! You go down very quick. You will never be promoted again.

If that is true, Spooner is a freakin' mental patient. Talk about being programmed by the machine. Spooner must have watched the "The matrix" one too many times. Does he wear the green suit with the ray-bans?

Yeap, he sure is! I am not sure what he watched though, but I sure know I am happier without him breathing down my neck telling me "no customer should walk out of your door without paying you something". Freak from hell !!
