Default Yesterday's Tulsa Fire Drill With Steve Weidner

Hello West Tulsa 515D,

Sounds like a phone call pushed Steve Weidner over the edge yesterday and he ordered every manager to order every employee to not take phone calls about Failing Enterprise. Of course, this now means every employee is going to be doubly-motivated to come and contribute here.

Steve Weidner: Why do you still have a job? Are you still ordering your employees to directly violate the company's "Founding Values" and lie to customers?

Andy Taylor: Why do you condone this? Do the "Founding Values" still apply, or not? If not, please remove them from your website.

Remember, Steve, some of your employees hate you so much because of your lack of ethics that they're actually offering me money to pay for another mailing to your area.

Quit. Now.

Andy: Kick him to the curb.

Wow, this is funny. It's true - every branch got a phone call saying "If you get ANY phone calls regarding this, send them straight to corporate PR." Shit, if I had received one of those phone calls, I'd hold nothing back.

Admin, I haven't been on the site lately but I sense a change in your tone...this message, your letter to Steve Weidner from your homepage...did this guy slay your first-born? And what happened to not using a person's full name??? What's going on with you, my friend?

Incidently, the best part of the letter to Steve is the fact that it was written on Valentine's Day. Did your beloved web site enjoy the dozen roses you sent it? I can do nothing but conclude that although your tone has darkened, your sad, pathetic existence hasn't changed a bit.

You didn't hear? Okay, all the area managers called the branch managers with instructions of what to do if they get the phone call. 5D got a call asking questions about Enterprise and about Failing Enterprise for a "report" of some sort. Steve then flipped out and went straight into crisis control mode.

That is awesome.

Does anyone know about how to submit press releases to media outlets to cover failingenterprise.com? That would stir up some great publicity.

We've got a plan for this on the shelf that we're holding in reserve.

Reminding branches not to talk to the media or otherwise isn't really that big a deal. They send out a note a couple times a year reminding us not to talk to reporters if they call. They give us a number to refer them to. That's how most comanies would handle this.

Still, it is kind of funny.
