I'm in the interview process now for a trainee position in Hickory, NC. So, i've seen a lot of pissed off people on here and I am wondering how life in this area is for employees. Is this area as bad as everyone else is claiming? I understand its 55 hours and lots of selling damage waiver, but what about the managers and people around here?

but generally speaking, ERAC def sucks. If you are gonna take this job, go into it understanding this will not be a career, just a full time temp job for a year or so. the first few months aren't bad, and the peeps you work with are generally cool. It's not the worst job out there, it does have some very minor perks, but most of what people say here is true. so, in summary, if you need $$ and can't wait, i say go for it...but like i said, this will not be a career so don't buy into that. |

Dude, I worked in Hickory and there are some good people there. Hutch treated me well. He's a good guy to work for. However, the job itself will grind on you. Customers will piss you off, you will work your ass off cleaning cars in your shirt and tie, and you'll log alot of hours. If you decide to do it, only do it temporarily. Good luck to ya!

Hey im currently working in Hickory. Ryan Moore is the area manager. I think he is a good guy and means well. As far as the managers that work with him, some are good and others are shady. At best you can always expect to find pissed off everyone. Not at you just the situation. For me I am going to be quitting soon. I have put in my time and its just time for me to move on. I do not want my college degree to go to waste. Granted most of the people you will work with are brain washed with crap about ESQI and 'make the customer happy' you just have to make the decision to deal or not to deal. If you just want to know how things are just show up with no reservation and demand a car on a friday afternoon about 530.

I started there years ago. It has changed drastically in 6 years. BTW - I'm no longer with the E machine. My advice is to find a better management trainee program than ERAC. There is no such thing as 6 figures in 6 years. You work from 7 to 7 most of the time. You're answering phones, washing cars, picking up people, getting belittled for dirty cars, don't forget about the fraudulent charges on customers credit cards, you won't be able to take your choice time when you want it, promotibility is minimal, they do promote after hours functions and a frat mentallity. You are expected to things with people you normally wouldn't hang out with in normal life. Forget being with your family. Now on the other hand there are great drunk fests in Orlando or Christmas parties. Finally, region A has turned over so many people in the past year that it shows weak management from all levels. Don't waste your time!

I started this thread and just wanted to let you guys know that I did not take the job all because of this website. Had I not seen this website before going into my interviews(I went to 3 total) I would have thought ERAC was a very promising career. April(recruiter) and Ryan(area mgr) were very impressive sales people. Even knowing this site exists I was almost overwhelmed by these guys' pitch that ERAC was the shit. What I liked best was" (HIM) What do you expect to be making in 5 years? (ME) I don't know, 50 K sounds good. (HIM) Try at least 100K. (ME) Wow that certainly is impressive. So why do you guys have to hire so many people here? Seems there is a lot of turnover if people are making 100K. (HIM) Oh no, turnover is not the problem, people are getting promoted left and right and we have to constantly hire new folks just to keep up with promotions." I was contacted a week later by April telling me I had the job but I told her I had already taken another job. Thanks FailingEnterprise!!
