| Actually, Frank went to bat for his Branch and assistant managers at the time Caroline, Jim Greco and I think Mary Jo Da Silva and saved their jobs. But from what I understand it was a close call. He just got greedy with that stupid company whose name I thought I would never forget. Something like 30,000 hit 21 in bad debt all in one month. Never collected. It was some sort of historic mark. I heard he was canned because he never got any higher ups involved as the bills kept moving columns on the A/R run (among other reasons). |

| This all happened right when I first started and it was much higher than 30K.I remember the whole account went under to the tune of over 100K in corp account. The brach was direct billing when they weren't set up on direct billing and the body shop went under. This is still a drop in the bucket on the thousands of dollars a month after month that branches overcharge and steal from dealerships and insurance companies around Vegas. |

| Does anybody out there remember Carlos Ortega? The guy was one of the shadiest people I have ever met. He used to get all the spanish speaking people to come and they always took full package. We always wondered how he did it, and then we found out. It turns out Carlos was telling them, in Spanish, that they had to take the full package CDW because if they didn't and they were pulled over by the police, they would all be arrested and then deported. Well, it seems Carlos didn't reform his behavior much from the time he left Enterprise. He became a police officer, if you can believe that. Imagine my surprise when I saw his mug shot on the morning news last year. It seems Carlos arrested a woman for loitering and suspicion of prostitution. As he was taking a woman in for booking, he offered to let the woman go....if she would give him oral sex. Well, she agreed but she later called the police and told them what happened. Long story short, he was facing felony sexual assault charges last I heard and got canned. |

Date: October 5, 2005 Author: Brian Haynes wb Section: City Page: 1B Words: 572 Officer faces sex charges By BRIAN HAYNES REVIEW-JOURNAL Las Vegas police arrested one of their own Tuesday, saying a downtown patrol officer let a woman avoid jail in exchange for oral sex. Carlos Alberto Ortega, a four-year-veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department, was booked into jail on charges of voluntary sexual conduct with a prisoner and misconduct by a public officer. The 35-year-old was placed on unpaid administrative leave after his arrest. He had been on paid administrative leave since the Complete article --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Holy shit, I remember when this happened and I was like, "Wow, I know that guy." For those of you that don't remember Carlos, he was indeed a very shadt cat. In fact, I believe his nickname was 'shady Carlos'. He worked as an MA forever behind Fletcher Jones Chevrolet and we used to go and pick up cars from him all the time. He was always cool to me, but you could tell that the guy was a little shady. |
