Seriously. I know where the guy is coming from who wrote that, and it's just simpler to say that person was scum and shouldn't of gotten the car. You get scum (and good people) from every color of the rainbow in Harrisburg. So yeah, black, white, english, french, german....if the person didn't qualify they didn't qualify.
I will say, I worked in several downtown offices and I never discriminated against anyone based on thier skin color...HOWEVER, I was called racist many times because I refused to rent to people that didn't qualify. I've also had several of my female employees referred to as "That white bitch" during a dispute. All that really got to me....because I never discriminated against anyone, nor would I have tolerated anyone else doing it at my office. And then they come back and call me and my co-workes racists. Black, white, old, or young...you don't qualify, you weren't getting a car from us.
My FAVORITE race story from Enterprise took place in Lancaster, PA. The office was packed and there was an African American male trying to rent a car. He had no reservation and did not have the necessary paperwork to rent on cash. After we explained why we could not rent to him he began yelling that we "Just don't want to rent a brother a car because he's black." and we all "just hate black people" and "You're a bunch of f*cking racists at Enterprise." He stormed out of the office and every employee and customer was silent until my customer broke the silence by saying, "Man, that n*ggas crazy! Look around the goddamned office, we're all getting cars!" It was then that I realized the irony of the situation. The office was packed...there was a man and his wife returning a car, and there were two other people renting cars at that time that qualified. THEY WERE ALL BLACK. Every single customer in the office was black! After he accuses all of us as being racist and not wanting to rent to black people. Enterprise taught me a little something about race issues:
Racists come in every single color....the only thing they have in common is ignorance. I still don't like being called a racist, regardless of the source.
