I can picture an AM gets hired as Marketing Director somewhere and coming up with the plan of handing out donuts and pens to their clients every Friday. In all seriousness, I'm not knocking them and saying that they have no applicable skills, but I am curious what kind of jobs they get when they leave Enterprise, assuming they have been no where else since college since Enterprise. I know some current ERACers are going to come out and give me a text bitch-slap for asking this, but I just don't know what comparable jobs are out there. |
I think you would be surprised. There are a lot of companies out there that know about ERAC and all the things an ARM has to do while there, so they become very marketable. Typically the ARM is the best outside sales person in their ERAC area (or one of the best), so they can go into outside sales, or sales management. Of course they can always stay in retail management. The ARM is not out there looking for an entry level job like the trainees and branch managers of the world. ARMs do not become claims reps for insurance companies or pharma reps. ARMs become very viable employees for other companies for a lot of reasons (length of stay at ERAC, sales ability, management experience, committment, ability to get promoted within an organization, etc., etc.). Again, they don't go looking for entry-level positions when they leave ERAC. The jobs aren't as many to choose from, but they are out there and they are more rewarding (both financially and professionally) than the entry-level that others leave ERAC for.
