I'm gonna buy a big house! Based on my 12 hour day yesterday (with no lunch) I made $8.83/hour! Not bad for a college grad, eh?!!!

What company do you work for? If you make $8.83/hour I am wondering why you still work there. Are you happy about making that as a college graduate? I wouldn't be, unless the future payoff was worth putting in the time, but some people are gluttons for punishment. I'm sure you aren't this type of person, but some people, rather than putting themselves in a better position to earn more, whine and complain about what they are making rather than simply going out and making more.

Whatever company it is, I'd recommend taking some initiative and either start earning more if they have opportunities to make commissions or bonuses or simply leave the job. If you have good people skills and interview well, it shouldn't take long to land another job.

It also sounds like you work a ton of hours for little money. Why do you allow yourself to make such little money for those long hours? Isn't your time more valuable than $8.83/hour?

I'd suggest taking a long look in the mirror tomorrow morning while getting ready for your long difficult day and say to yourself "today is the last day I allow myself to be paid so little!"

That was motivational.

I imagine he is discussing an Enterprise Branch Manager with a very low or not so profitable location. Alot of hard work hours with no pay off equals = $8/hour

Sounds like this cat needs to either improve the profit of his branch, if he's a manager, or get a new gig.

Before you go off and do something drastic, I was reading the thread and became interested in what some people make. My base was $25,000...the rest was commision.

Pipe down

I recall an area manager telling an MT that when he gets promoted to Asssistant Manager, he'll be making close to $50k. Well, if close means $20k, then he was right. :)

Overpromise and underdelivery is what this company is all about and why you don't see too many people in their 30's unless they are a level III. The twenty somethings just think this is how it is.
