| Can anyone explain to me why most ERAC employees all the way up to city managers rent apartments and dont live in houses? Possible answers are.... 1-low pay 2-low pay 3-low pay Any of these could be a factor or possibly all of the above.I realized that all managers lie about their salary.Dont be fooled by what you hear MTs....You manager is earning fuck all! |

BMW's are crap anyway, bet it wasn't new - the depreciation is astonishing. You can get a z3 (bought new at £23,000+) for less than £5k now about 4 yrs old __________________ Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |

If you are not a BM that is close to a L3 promotion you have to rent to stay "flexible". The company has a really SHITTY relocation program for anybody that is not a L3. So, it doesn't make sense unless you like to take your lumps financially. If you are a new L3 it might be in a crap location that you can't wait to get out of. So, you don't buy there, but hope to get promoted soon. Anyway... call your GRM of VP. I am sure they will call BS on you and tell you to earn more so that you can buy whatever you want. |

Even with the monetary conversions I'm pretty sure BMWs differ in price depending whether you are in the UK or the US. Aren't BMWs more afforable in the UK...or am I way off base here? Back on topic...the reason most people at ERAC live in apts. is also because a lot of them are single, and it's not easy to buy a house with one income, even if you are doing "half-decent" in ERAC terms ($40-50K). I owned a house when I was an MA...but I had my fiancee's help. So together we were making about $65K and could make it work. So I'm going to alter the reasons for not being able to buy a house. 1-low pay 2-work life is not conducive to relationships, so many are single 3-If they were financially smart enough to buy a house, they'd be smart enough to quit ERAC. Sorry, that last one was a low blow. |

Any remarketer will tell you the same. Pricewise I think we're about the same given the exchange rate. Wither way it's too high! __________________ Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |

| In the UK, second hand BMW's are worth next to nothing because they have become a victim of their own success and the world and his wife owns one, thus reducing their premium status and therefore their value. How many G-K regs 3 series do you see on the road driven by someone who clearly would be a lot better off driver something slightly more affordable? Exactly. This is why only a mug would buy a 3 series BMW. Saying that though the new 5 series is nice, and so is the Z4, though for the money you'd be better off with a Lotus Elise, a proper sports car rather than a hairdressers one. |

As for the previous poster, the Z4 looks nice but is a terrible drive. It has the hardest suspension I have ever felt. Five series is OK but when you are outperformed by a Volvo C70 which hasn't been redesigned since 1997 your in trouble. __________________ Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |
