Default Nightmare 627 city meeting.

Does anyone remember that nightmare city meeting that happened a little over a year ago when all the managers had Joe leave the room for the last half of the meeting.

Do you remember Gabes pretentious rant, and how embarassed Bill looked about the whole thing?

Do you remeber that it was supposed to motivate everyone by telling everyone how bad they were - even down to calling individuals out in an aim to shame them in front of everyone?

Do you remeber how it tore away what respect and comradery was left in the city. Do you remeber how the work atmosphere deteriorated from then on and how those of us left had to watch as Joe went away for medical reasons, everything fell apart and several good people left?

WOW!!! That doesn't surprise me that actually happened. I think I would have quit right there on the spot. Management stoops to all kinds of levels to "motivate". Here's and idea, how about paying me??? Jerks....

The meeting in question was held in one of the function rooms at the longbranch hotel in Cedar Rapids.

We used to drink during the meetings there, which made them bearable. However, before this meeting the managers, in all their wisdom, decided to make it a non-drinking event. The insults obviously hurt more if you are not drinking!

As I recall, although it was more than a year ago, Joe was out for a while as he had to have some kind of surtgery on his foot and needed to stay off it for a few weeks.

Seriously, you should have seen the looks on everybody's faces as they left. I honestly believe that had it gone on a few seconds longer the managers could have been mobbed.

Anyone else recall any similar events in their cities?

No, most L3's have enough talent to not have to pull that old school, locker room bullshit. Well, except a couple that I can think of.... Sounds real motivational.

Well actually Joe was our level three and he was asked to leave the room after he had finished the usual meeting so the level two managers could try this crap.

To be fair to Joe I don't think he would ever have attempted anything that stupid and I believe that he even made some comments about it, after he had witnessed the destruction over the next few weeks, that were not complementary.

Explain, why is the poster naive? Do you imagine Joe masterminded the whole thing or what?

given the trainwreck that ensued, I would refrain from calling it "masterminded", but I would guess that he was in on the whole deal
