Default Old School Stories From the Trenches

I decided to start this thread in the 62 section, because it became apparent this morning that we had some people that were here to catch up with old friends and talk about some good times without getting caught up in the drama, and it seemed difficult to do.

Since I'm not Admin, I can't keep people off the thread or delete "off topic" posts, but I'd just ask people to stay on topic.

I'd like to hear some GP 62 stories from back in the day. Old School isn't really about "when" so feel free to bring some mid-04 stories if you want. It's more about recalling good times in our careers that we'll reflect upon fondly in years to come. If you make some people laugh in the process, you've accomplished your mission.

My main request: Keep the mean-spirited stuff in your holster on this thread.

Thanks!

Ok - here goes. Back in the 90's...

One day, 625 had a manager's meeting and afterwards all the managers jumped in a car and drove to another city with their DX camera They proceeded to storm into branches stealing little mementos.

At one branch, not sure which one, they stole a stuffed Eric Cartman that they had found in the office.

Later, they sent the polaroids back to that branch with them doing all kinds of unspeakable acts to Cartman - sodomy and whatnot.

I saw the pictures later, and they were awesome. I think the best was Joey Klein having anal sex with Cartman while George Randle cheered him on.

Now those were good times!

Ok, I have so many old school memories it's hard to pick one.

Eric Schonhoff is in most of them. That guy is amazing!
His going away party at Rob Galberaith's house was a drunken love fest. Everyone was getting all weepy over him leaving. Tony Shuster and George Randal were all drunk and making the tearful "I love you man" speaches. It was great.

There was the time a bunch of us BRM's thought it would be a good idea to take the Nationwide Insurance adjusters to Club Caberet on St Patrick's Day. Oh that was genius!

Then there was the time when Eric was late for a BRM meeting and REG was going to make him stand through the whole meeting. Eric refused, and the F-bombs didn't stop for an hour.

Or the time Shuster through a calculator at REG in a BRM meeting?

Who remembers Tyson Smith? Every time a customer pissed him off, he would give them Phil's direct cell phone number. He might as well of given them 1-800- GET ME FIRED.

I'll never forget Joey Klien. That guy was hillarious. He always had a dirty white shirt on, pronounced the word "specifically" like "pacifically" and could make anyone laugh in an instant. What a supr nice guy he was.

Who ever worked at 6250 and was abused by John Bearce?
I'll never forget the day Hampton walked into John's office and told him if he abused our employees ever again we were taking our satellite off the roof and bolting. Hampton rocked!

I miss those days. If it hadn't changed, I would have stayed forever!

I just heard about this website from a buddy of mine...Can't believe there are so many people on a site like this...It was even more funny when I opened this post and saw my name...

Out of curiosity, why doesn't anyone use their name? It would be nice to keep up with some people, especially those who were there there to see the calculator incident with REG.

the reason no one identifies themselves is that we are all cowardly pussies, except for those of us who actually still work at ERAC (whose jobs could be in jeopardy if we were ID'd on here). we enjoy coming to read these boards monthly, weekly, daily, and then throwing out some nasty comments toward anyone we'd like. and we can get away with it because we are anonymous here in cyber-space. we'd never have the sack to say these things in person to any of the people we can knock on this board.

so, mr. schuster, when you identify yourself, you simply open yourself up to a loser like me ripping on you for no reason other than that i now know who you are and you don't know who i am.

look back through the other threads. you'll find some of your heartland brothers and sisters are basically whiny little bitches - and while you've moved on to bigger and better things, they are still allowing their feeble minds and hearts to be controlled by ERAC - ERAC is getting their time and attention free of charge.

Hey Tony-

Hope all is well with you and the family. The calculater story reminded me of when you threw the keys at the big guy that worked with us at 52 (can't remember his name). I recently left the company to go the same route you did.

Take care,
Noah
