I would guess not that many former level 3's are near this site. first of all, you have to figure former level 3's, like other ex-employees, are 1) embittered or 2) lost the dream for one reason or another but really enjoyed the company while they were there and took the experience to move forward in life.

If it is #1, chances are they are diplomatic enough that even if they were bitter they wouldn't be on this site talking about it. They most likely would share their experiences with a few close friends and peers and that would be it.

If it is #2, then likely they are doing something else with their time that they enjoy that precludes them from spending much time here - whether it be work, family, etc.

Then, mathematically, you have to figure - how many level 3's have actually left since the group started back in october 1992 (class A fact coming out)? Maybe 25 - definitely under 30. Chances of them knowing about the site, visiting the site more than once just to get a couple laughs, being embittered enough to post, and actually having a story about their last day worth posting probably eliminates L3's.

Consider this: this forum is totally skewed to the disenchanted because misery loves company. While some may be amused and are drawn to the site because there are some funny truths, the people that consistently lurk around and post the negative, deriding, personal stuff about other people are relatively few in comparison. There are almost 50K employess worldwide, right? In the past few years there have probably been another 50K that came and went. Of the over 100K employees that may know about the site, there are a couple hundred that come on this entire site with any regularity. maybe up to 500 - one half of one percent of the people. Of that, you have some ardent supporters of ERAC, some people that take ERAC for what it is and move on, and then a percentage of people that are bitter to the end.

My guess is that the attitude and mentality that someone takes on this forum speaks more about them than ERAC. Look at our fearless administrator - though he is not a fan of ERAC at all, he is definitely diplomatic in his approach in 99% of the things he says. He probably takes that approach as he goes through life as well.

I think the number of participants here is bigger than you're saying. The server logs show that we get visited by over 2,500 unique IP addresses every day, and over 17,000 unique IP addresses every month. That's a lot more than 500.

Yes, you would know better than I. But how many actually post versus how many lurk? Also, you have to consider this - the people most likely to post on this site are 1) disgruntled ex-employees 2) disgruntled current employees, and 3) defenders of the faith. By far the most likely are #1 and #2, since defenders are beaten down immediately for their positive stance on the company (and because they say stupid things like "you couldn't hack it" etc.).

It's definitely not an environment that fosters good feelings, so people happy with ERAC probably avoid it for the most part. why fill your head with negative thoughts about an employer you enjoy? It can't possibly help your performance.

Ex-level 3 employees for the most part are people that were very successful with ERAC to move to that level, and most of them are people that possess traits that will make them successful in other careers as well. I would contend that most people who are successful and happy in their careers don't have as much time available to visit a predominantly negative site where ex-employees continue to live in the past and allow ERAC to have an effect on them months and years later.

Admin, tell me one reason why a highly paid and successful ex-erac employee who left on good terms with the company and simply moved to other things would spend much time on this site? I don't see a benefit to them - it's either a waste of time for ex-employees or a downer for current employees who are doing well - and by doing well, I'm not assigning a position or compensation level - just that they are happy with their place in this world, with or without ERAC.

I completely agree that most visitors here do not post. Maybe 95% of all visitors only lurk.

I also agree that having an extreme opinion of Enterprise, good or bad, makes one more likely to visit or post.

Regardless of how successful an employee is or was at Enterprise, if they're reasonably smart they understand its culture and issues. Therefore, I think any current or former employee would find this site entertaining, at a minimum, and many will find it to be useful group therapy.

I also agree the posts here are probably biased against Enterprise, although this is at least partially because negative opinions about Enterprise are suppressed inside the organization, so people come here to express them.

I think that 24 is overthinking this thing way too much. Got a lot of time on your hands? Who cares what the demographics of the people on here are. People come on here to laugh, argue, catch up, be assholes, whatever. I love the people that try to pick apart the minds of the people posting and wonder who they are and what they are doing here. Apparently you are not one of those people that have found a job that requires a lot of time or else you wouldn't be on here. Now, post and defend your position or your super fantastic job. Please come up with a long drawn-out explination of it and while you're at it, kiss admins butt and slam him at the same time. I personally am transfixed on your loquacious postings.

I could care less who these people are, and I personally wouldn't want to know 75% of them simply based on their posts. In the case of your post, there is nothing for me to defend. Rather than stating a different position than I, you simply told me I was silly for having the opinion I did.

At least we can both agree that people that come on here and talk about their new better jobs with bigger salaries and less hours are ridiculous. People that are doing well for themselves don't usually need to tell others. The more time one spends jumping up and down shouting about their great job, the more people wonder why they need to justify it.
