Do you work at Cat or ERAC? I am an employee of Cat in the purchasing dept. and I can only sit here and think about how someone would know so much about the future of Cat. I was trying to book online, but I stumbled on this site and found this blog. I must say whoever you are, you are right on the money with things moving to the lower southern states. Cats looking at the simple economics of the whole thing. Our marginal cost is higher than our benefit to stay in Peoria. This happened to Firestone over in Decatur, IL. You are also right about the reasons, labor, unions for sure, and buildings. The projections though is 7-15yrs. Whatever your manager is doing must be real shitty. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag,but we are starting to push more for National now. I guess the cats out of the bag now, but its true. Dealing with Cat isn't easy. If you screw up as much as ERAC has, what do you think will happen. Best of luck with whatever you do.

in response to the cat worker, u may be pushing for national but i know that u guys are lazy and wont drive out to the apt, u may use national but others won't .they are cry babies that want a car on sat for use on monday and don't want the charges to start until monday am cause u are lazy and don't want to go to the apt, and then u want every car to be at your plants at mossville and morton, all u are a bunch of winny ass people who think u are the shit cause u work at cat, fuck off and go to the south we don't want u

fuck those stupid cat pool cars at mossville. there's either not enough out there and we have to take an extra car all the way out to mossville when we are super shortstaffed because the lazy assholes out there think they are too good to come into the office and rent the car like everyone else because it "just not convienient" for them to come and pick it up. well fuck you. just for that i'm bringing you a smoked out taurus with 30,000 miles. All that for $30/day rate. Then we sit on them on the weekend.

If anyone knows about this please respond. Here it is, After Labor Day on Tues, Goff appearently got the call from upper people that if shit doesn't get better in X amount of time. His ass is gone. I think this came directly from Steve with Guz on the other end. Conference call style. I don't know if this is true, but I do in a way believe this could happen after what just happened over the Labor Day weekend. Nobody is ever safe at this company.
