Hate the game, not the players...Makiney isn't so bad really--at least he wasn't when I worked with him. Perhaps he's a bit misguided, but he appears to be living the ERAC dream--the bullshit that seemed almost cool when you are 23 and clueless. To you and I, living the dream is more than washing cars wreaking of pot and managing a bunch of bloated ex-frat boys at stripmalls and converted restaurants, but this is what Brian has seemingly excelled at. Dealerships and autobody shops didn't trust him seven years ago, but I'll give him credit for playing the game and kissing Deal's ass and apparently everyone else's along the way. Although he can be a bit of a show-off and boaster, that's the nature of this company...the more kool-aid (or golden soda as Brad Deal would say) you can drink, the better. Do I think that he's making $100,000--maybe... the guy basically sold his soul to get where he is at the age of 31 and I would go as far as say that he probably deserves it for being a good soldier to a bullshit company. I do feel sorry for Brian when he tries to move beyond the green picket fences and realizes that his skills aren't marketable beyond the realm of ERAC. I'm not sure where other branch and city managers are these days, but retail or the insurance industry seem the only routes for someone who has wasted seven plus years at a glorified rent-a-center chain. Good luck Brian, there are about 34,000 brainwashed MTs that are gunning for your job---six years, six figures...

A $100,000 a year isn't shit when you work a 60 hour week it comes out to about $32 an hour. Hell I know people who work in factories that pull a $100,000 with over time. Thats all it is, he works overtime its just not guaranteed income its a bonus. Most of the young kids don't look at it as working, but going to work functions dinner, drinks, ect, its all a form of work. The truth is all ERAC people are over worked, ERAC knows that having two managers at $60,000 will cost them more when you factor in benefits, factor benefits at about 3/4 the base so if you make $60,000 with benefits you cost the company about $100,000 so they just have one over worked fuck nut and pay him little more, simple math two for the price of one. Also they want him to get feed up and leave at some point so there is no retirement to pay for. If you think Im full of shit go take a upper management training course thru an independent company, you will see all of the little motivational technics employers use to manipulate the fresh meat, how they butter up the BM's and MT's so they work harder think they will get somewhere. How many of you have heard some of these lines, "You have only been here for six months but you are preforming at a one year level keep up the good work" "You are going to be the next Branch Manager" "You know if you keep up the great job your doing you could be a city manager someday" "I know its tuff right now but we under staffed and it will get better soon" If you really want to find out how little you mean to ERAC do this, ask for sometime aside with your manager to outline a career path, tell him you want to establish some business goals that you can achieve that can tie into the cooperate strategy for the year. He will have something come up so fast or change the subject quick because he knows he has no control over it and he is just a rent a monkey. Don't get me wrong all cooperate America is corrupt, ERAC is just one of the most corrupt I have ever seen with there Frat Boy Like Mentality, try to find a company that fucks you a little softer. Do you have rent a cheers Rent, Rent, drink and fuck I know renting and washing cars sucks But in the end it will be ok cause I can be like brain Makiney

Who are you people? Talking about stuff that happened 7-10 years ago? Can we keep it current please? I want some juicy meat, not some mold-encrusted brokedown old school stuff. Now I don't want to be like a dog and mark my territory here, because this is obviously a forum on which anyone can post. But I'm just trying to get perspective. If you've recently left the E and are still bitter, I can understand. Kind of like the girlfriend that broke up with you for being jealous and overprotective (borderline stalker). For a while it stings and you need to vent. But...7 years ago? If you're still on this site and your frickin' employee number didn't even have letters in it yet....what the HELL are you doing with your life? Seeing names of people on here who most of us don't even know or have never even heard of except in legend makes me laugh.
