If we think B.I.R.D.C.O., then
Bodyshops - room to grow, but going forward its the ins companies who dictate everything anyways -would make this a second priority
Insurance -they send nearly everything to ERAC already, would exp min growth if actually called all ARMS res' on time
Retail -lowest rates always prevail -already doing this -min growth potential
Dealerships - the only "real" opportunity to get that large fleet growth if you don't have all your dealerships already
Corporate -potential, but how often are you going to land a whale, 99% of corp leads are garbage, but asking cst's is still the best way
Other -WES/employee rentals -see retail; hotels -no potential growth; repair shops -the odd ride

So while there is minimal potential, there isn't tons of room to grow. I'd be more concerned with making sure I don't lose the accounts I had already thru taking them for granted. And the retail business you lose is due to shitty high milage vehicles with damage plus the 15 minutes for the MT to clean your frozen car while you wait in the lobby. OR Pay $5-10 more/day at Budget and get a fully loaded car under 30k kms, likely clean and ready to go. Full tank of gas. Empty lobby and agent ready to help you. No 2 o'clock count there

I worked in C2 a few years ago, and immediately after leaving out of frustration, took a job as a manager of a Budget for a short while. Pretty much the same shit. One thing I found interesting was for a walk-up cst, since the agents were commissioned, essentially they would quote whatever they wanted. When I got there they'd be jacking a guy for $65 for a CCAR and people would take it. Problem was, they'd let him walk if he turned it down. A little different then ERAC where we'd "pray" the guy would take the $25/day car so we could tighten up. In retrospect, we could have done the same at ERAC, but we were so conditioned to quote off the AA0910 screen and afraid of seeing a CCAR above $37.99/day.

I modified the two systems:
A piece of advice, treat it like a car salesman would. For a walk-up cst, jack him for the most outrageous rate going. If he starts to walk, get creative and try something like asking him if he's ever rented before. If he says no, drop the rate to $55/day and tell him its a discount for a first time cst. If he says he has rented before, drop the rate to $55/day and tell him its a discount for being a loyal cst. If it looks like he's going to walk again, then get creative and drop it again. Like ERAC always said -just get him in a car. I just wouldn't go below whatever your set rate is, be it AA0910 or whatever. Treat it just like a car sale. You know the car salesman doesn't want you to walk and will always go lower until he reaches his breakeven. Worked for us, and definitely a way to get your OP up. I mean it's not a far stretch, you shove dub down people's throats and lie about your shortcomings, so you're already a slime ball.

Default IS THIS COMMON???

Im new in this discussion folks and also a new member of this site..Im not an erac employee (thank God) but have rented them for the first time few months ago (usually rent from company affiliations which is hertz) because hertz didnt have any availability that day. They gave me a small basic toyota yaris and yet they charged me for a minivan...i complained after realizing this but too late because they already charged my credit card and I just let it slide due to my time is not worth complaining for couple of $20s difference. Needless to say, after reading a few threads around the discussion board, Im not sure if this scam is as common as day light....or it was an honest mistake by the poor young newly grad "manager trainee"?

buttcheeks...

I have run into the likes of Corvers, Van Dam, Ainsworth, and a few others in the past several months and all seem to be happy and doing well. Would like to know more about where Pete Clavette is. Seems like he just picked up and disappeared. Anyone here from or know where he has settled to?
You kidding me, with the people Clavette hung out with on the mt., I wouldn't be surprised if he was either dead or in the witness protection program.
