No one said you couldn't make a lot of money at Enterprise. There are good people here, but the bad far outweigh them, people I don't aspire to be like. But money's not the only thing in life. What good is it if you never have the time to enjoy it? Every single person I knew in my branch had issues with their gfs/wives for the late hours. And if you break down a BM's salary on an hourly basis, it's not all that much. How many ARM's or BMs have you seen that are truly happy and "completely satisfied" with their jobs? Answer that. I think ex-ERACers come on here not because they regret leaving or have a love affair with Enterprise. I think they come on here to see how far they've come from where they started.

The problem with Ecars is that it’s not a conducive work environment for a large demographic of front line employees. For those out there that either live at home with their parents or share accommodations with roommates (i.e. rent less then $500/month) and are single, then Ecars can be a great place to work. Although, if you have a girlfriend-wife / boyfriend-husband and or you live alone (rent at least $800/month in GTA) then working for Ecars can be a nightmare. The hours the industry demands (and it is the industry, not the company) of its employees are excessive and the comparative compensation is inadequate.
I'm not sure if Ecars can ever have "great" retention but it does need to reassess its approach on this issue. The company looses hundreds of thousands a year (in C2 alone) on lost retention. If they reinvested that money into its employees (wage increase, comprehensive incentive program where not just the top 3% get recognized, etc) then imagine the impact it would have on your group overhead, your sales numbers (properly incentivised employees perform better) and your esqi. I'll guarantee if all the sub-level 3 management got together and organized a company wide walk-out then Tom Parker would have no choice but to hear you.
Its up to you, current C2 employees, to change your work environment. To stand by doing nothing, all the while complaining, you are part of the problem. Try being part of the solution... or just quit and find something else.

Where can you start as a trainee and 5 years later you have the chance of run a $5 M/year business?

I know that ECARS is not the perfect company, and we have a lot to improve (mainly HR issues and retention, some old school ARMs and BRMs that were used to do nothing and still make quite a lot of $$$ without actually deserving), but show me any company that does not have problems. Embrace them, challenge them, work hard so someday YOU can take care of them.

I am just sick tired of people saying the ECARS is crap, etc... Enough already. Is this a job for anyone? NO. Is this a company that anyone can succeed? NO. So, if you found something better, GOOD for YOU. If you can't find anything better, then the problem is YOU. Stop complaining and DO something or just leave, because it is clear that this is NOT for you.
But what I can't stand is how people who worked for years for ECARS and applied for all kind of positions (and did not get more than BRM) now are the one who trash the company the most... Duh! Guess what? Take care of your life+job... If you were so over ECARS you would not waiste your time here.
ECARS is crap you fuck'n' loser. You show me 1 ARM making 100K and I'll show you a liar.

TP has created more ARM spots. Thats Great.
The only problem is that all he has done is split existing areas. 100K you are so brainwashed,.

100k a year for ARM?? i saw my BM's paystub and its $1050/ 2 weeks plus comm, which averaged $950/month for the 12 months for 2005(which was a slow year b/c of the short winter). This was after taxes, plus he has a year to date bonus of $750 for the year. Thats not even $40000 net income for all those hours..imagine the ARM's...they dont make 100K a year, it has happened, but thats an extreme case..we are talking average here for C2A. They are starting to split up the areas so that means more ARM's with less income..i hope ERAC's profits double or theer are going to be a lot of angry ARM's..unless they like making less money than garbage collectors(there is nothing wrong with garbage collectors by the way-its a job). Take a look at those numbers and divide them by the hours they work and you'll see something very sad..good luck BM's and ARM's.

100k a year for ARM??

Why the speculation? Does Enterprise not have unit analysis' or "the statement" lying around the branches anymore?? You can calculate anyone's pay if you have a statement? ARM base pay is $40,000 and their commission maxes at 5% of net profit for their area. Do the math!!
