| I am writing this on a friends computer away from C299, I am in HR. Retention starts and stops with TP. Until this guy is shown the door, esqi and retention will always be a problem. I went to TP telling him the cost of living in C2 was the highest in the country. I told we need to raise our base pay to compete with other companies. Heck I showed him other Canadian groups that had higher bases, he looked at me like I was on crack. He told me that "people will come for the future oppurtunity not the starting salary". So if anyone wonders why we higher more College gradutes then Universtity (8 to 1) this is why. And to be frank we are not even seeing good College candidates anymore. What next TP start get the "learn english as a second language graduates?" TP get off your wallet and pay employees a fair wage so they can pay rent and have a car in Toronto. I would have also included money for lunch, but based on our current staffing and TE expenses "pizza lunchs" is the norm. Hood Robin (HR) |

| TP - here's a word of advice. Go back to your roots. Review the "core values". Incase you've forgotten your employees are your most valuable asset. Why not concentrate on them for a change? Remember, it's hard to run a business without out front line personel. Would you change places with an MT for a month? Did you know that according to Monster.ca the average Entry Level Sales Representative (qualifications for the position may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area) working in Canada earns a median base salary of $37,596. According to their analysis of data reported by corporate HR departments half of the people in this job earn between $35,030 and $44,178. Think about it! |

TP's not stupid--he knows that any increased productivity seen by giving MTs a raise would be negated by the cost of those raises. |
