Hey everyone...I work in the Ottawa area (just started a couple of months ago) and I am shocked at this website.

I have had a positive experience with E so far (even though my branch is super understaffed - half as many ppl as we should have). I think it all boils down to if you are the right person for Enterprise. If you are, you love the job because the growth is great, you like to deal with customers, you are a good problem solver and you don't get stressed easily. I have been working 50 hour weeks for a while and I'm still standing!

And the benefits are pretty good guys. Compare them to other private organizations. Most would give you NO vacation days (paid) in your first year. Employee referrals are a good chunk of cash, training bonuses...

But to all those who are unhappy, go work for the government then because chances are your the type that just wants to see the money with no effort...and doesn't like to be challenged.

Bulls*** to you who thinks we don't like to be challenged.

I love a good challenge...I hate to be bored at work...I'm a hard worker with great ethics. I've worked my tail off during my time at E.

The problem has less to do with me, or the customers, than it does to do with the organization.

There's no reason why we need to work 50+ hours weeks.

There's no reason why MTs and MAs need to earn as little as we're paid.

There's no reason why we can't say "no" to an unreasonable customer instead of having to be yelled at, called names and then have the BM say, "What can we do to make it up to you?"

There's no reason why we should have to grant every request...a 40 minute round trip driveback at 5:55 pm...a cash qualification deal..."it's a corporate customer...take the res!" but we have no cars, so we piss off the next (retail) customer who walks in the door.

There's no reason why an MT/MA/AM has to work from 7:30-6, often without lunch, but the BM leaves early or doesn't arrive until nearly 8.

I'm all for doing my fair share....and then some...or taking flak for a mistake that I've made, either from a customer or my boss, but eventually you just stop wanting to do it because you know that you'll have to take responsibility for the most ridiculous things while the BM is nowhere to be found. Every day.

I thought just like you when I started...now I see why people quit. You'll get there....I'd like to find out what you think in another year or two or five when you're still working at that completely understaffed branch and you've spent 80% of your time at E and not with your family.

I hear your pain. I guess I'm lucky because the branch I am at is very well run. What it all boils down to is management. At my branch, my BM works hard, is there everyday at 730...NOONE is allowed to work more than 50 hours a week. And we do say no to customers - we are out of there at 6pm on the dot (give or take 10 minutes) almost everyday. If a customer calls at 555 and wants a p/up we kindly inform them that we close in 10 minutes and that it is not possible.

Its all in how you run the business. If you have a bunch of NRES made for 545, call them and tell them that they need to come in earlier. If you don't have any cars - plan ahead and call your customers, be honest. We don't sell chocolate bars here...cars are not always on the shelf in great variety for the taking.

My branch has one of the highest ESQis in the group and its all due to good management and a good team. It is possible but if you are at a branch that isnt all it should than a. transfer or b. quit
