Hey Simon, get back under the GM's desk and away from your computer.

I've been out for a while... It sounds like the group is going through some "interesting" times right now.

I just started working for C4, so I'm probably not in the loop in terms of what is actually going on with the group. It seems as though they are projecting alot of growth and the GM seems optiminstic and aggressive about going into new markets. Could you elaborate on the "interesting" times?

TD seems like a good leader, but I don't know if I buy into his growth projections. On the surface, every thing seems peachy keen with this group, but I know that this is not the case. There are several managers who are disgruntled with his new style. Anyone care to elaborate?

Well he has signed new leases and will be opening up a few stores in the next few months.

What do you mean about his new style? How everything is based on a matrix, and anyone on the bottom half needs to get their act together?

53% turnover should answer the question. Anyone got any scoop on what happened to Dworetsky?

BD wasn't performing. Supposedly he "retired". But only at age 40, I find that hard to believe. I'm sure he was asked to leave the company, which a nice severance pay..

High turnover? Long hours, crappy pay etc. Some managers have left due to some circumstances... seems like they can be dismissed for the smallest things even if they've put a lot of time into the company.

As well, it seems during the hiring process it's much different when you get into the branch, a lot of surprises..

It seems as though MT's in the smaller branches have a better opportunity to learn how to operate the business itself in this group. Talking to MT's in larger branches, all they do is write tickets and wash cars. They aren't given the opportunity to learn how to manage A/R's, income, costs, fleet, etc. These people get lost in the shuffle. As for the direction of the group itself, I like it. TD is a motivator, and I like the area managers I have gotten to know. Numbers trump everything else, and managers who can't hack it are forced to leave.
