Default Upper Management

Is upper management, including VP's, City managers and Area Managers out of touch with the problems that that occur at a branch level?

I wouldn't say that they are out of touch with the problems. I would say that thet ARE aware of them but they think that the incentive of advancement should be enough for the people in the branches to work through them or fix them theirself. They had problems when they were where you are but they kept their mouths shut and just showed up and worked and BOOM, one day they got promoted. They feel this should be good enough for you too.

The people who speak up about problems are viewed as troublemakers by upper management, especially if it makes them have to change the way they do things. Trust me, I know someone who is in upper management in your group who will make sure that "troublemakers" don't advance if he has anything to say about it.

If anything, as long as the troublemaker is in the boys club/plays hockey, that person will be treated like gold....

Boys club? Hockey player? Seriously thats the least of our concerns. How about someone who can actually get ESQI. That'll give you job security, for the rest of us... we're fu**ed

what is it that an actual area manager does? I've heard many a time that they are "there to help out their branches and train branch managers to take over their positions". That's BULLSHIT!!! Before I submitted my resignation, my area manager (who hates anyone who doesn't have a penis) did not set foot, nor make a single phone call to my branch in 30 days. I know what you're thinking people, but he only has 3 branches! In the 7 months that he was my area manager, he lied to me, took 0 accountability for his actions, took credit for the accounts that I landed and picked his ass the rest of time. Talk about a waste of space and skin.
