Default Luke De Kansky

I may be one of the few on here that actually enjoys my job. Having worked with Enterprise for some time now, i truly enjoy my job, but must take this opportunity to let anyone who will listen know what we all have to deal with here in Scotland. I speak not simply for myself but on behalf of everone that must work under this inept little boy..LUKE DE KANSKY. In all my years of working, with ERAC but also outwith ERAC, I have never met a worse manager of people in my life. It defies logic how this Group Rental Manager can hold his position. It would be one thing to critisise his skills if the group was doing well under his direction, but how our GM cannont see his complete and utter lack of people, sales, and management skills is beyond logic. I challenge anyone, and i mean anyone..to find a person who has an ounce of respect for this guy. Its truly pitiful. He has no people skills, no managment skills and has so little respect among his peers in and across the UK that it would laughable were it not for the fact that so many peoples livelyhoods are in the balance. This compnay is suppose to be all about performance...how the,n can an individual who performs so babdly, and and is soooo disliked..continue to have a job.
These are not, and i repeat NOT the random thoughts of a current disgruntled employee... but rather the view of everyone ive ever spoken with - and that includeds people in higher positions than him!!! Even his own GM I KNOW has doubts that he is the man to steer our business to the next level.
The manner in which Luke manages is so franetic, so inconsistant, and so see through ..that one can only stop and look for a second and see why turnonver, op, and morale are horrific. His sales skills, and demeanor or so bad...so pathtic, its no wonder employees from all levels dread going on a sales call with him. He is so transparent it has become a joke. I could go on for hours describing his up & down, deceitful, and managment tactics and personality. Please Khaled.... wake up ans see what everyone...and i mean EVERYONE is already thinking....Drop this guy. Dig just little...and you'll find so much crap in Lukes style it will make you sick.

I strongly disagree with the use of names on this site and think the same message could be achieved without actually naming people.

I think this thread should be removed.

I agree. I understand peoples frustration and wanting to "out" someone, but I think using their names is not needed. I could have a tome of names if I wanted to. I am guilty of doing it once and I am sorry. I don't think Names are necessary to make a point. I am on the fence about initials too. Perhaps we should discuss what is appropriate and everyones take on this. If you want to name someone else be willing to put your name at the end of posts.

About the names issue:

I think we need to separate the issue into three parts: legal issues, ethical issues, and the good manners issue.

There are plenty of warnings on this site and discussion board making it perfectly clear that people can post anonymously, or under any username, and say anything, and the truthfulness of their statements can't effectively be researched or verified. So if you name names, I don't think FailingEnterprise.com could suffer much for it. And I'm even leading by example by using the words "Shame, Shame, Shame!" as part of the caption for Andy Taylor's picture in the FAQ.

Also, the posters are responsible for their own words. However, I believe a sufficient defense of free speech is that you are telling the truth, or expressing a personal opinion. So I think we're OK on the legal issues.

But I suspect you're really more concerned about the ethical issues.

I can't really think of a good reason why you shouldn't name names. If a manager somewhere is exhibiting particularly appalling behavior, and Enterprise management refuses to correct the situation, it seems a reasonable thing to do to criticize publicly and warn other employees. I would categorize that as helping other members of the community, and helping each other out is one of the things we're here to do.

Lastly, the manners issue. I think lying to someone or mistreating them, whether they're a customer or employee, is a serious breach of good manners. Publicly calling them on it seems a perfectly acceptable response. Of course you'll do it anonymously; you don't want to get fired.

Of course I want people to have good manners. To Enterprise, I say "You first".

In summary: as is obvious from even a casual reading of this site, I'm a firm believer in seeking change through calmly speaking the truth. So go ahead and name names. I prefer you'd make truthful, constructive statements. If the Human Resources department at Enterprise isn't doing their job in weeding out destructive employees, help them out!

I see that several respected old-time members of this discussion board might disagree with me; I welcome more comments and analysis.

Full Disclosure: While it's true I don't list my name on this site, I'm not hiding from Enterprise. When I first built the site, I met with two "vice-presidents" for an hour, they said they understood what they needed to work on, and then I've never heard from them again. They know exactly who I am and how to contact me. I leave my name off the site because it's not about me, it's about Enterprise and the fact that they've gotten off track. I want to keep the attention where it belongs, on Enterprise, but I'm definitely not "hiding" from them.

Finally, it seems like this Luke De Kansky guy might be seriously incompetent. Luke, here's you chance to come on the board and defend yourself. It's a free country (at least where our servers are based).

Default LDK

I met him in Orlando - he was taking a breakout session.

That was four hours of my life I'm never going to get back.

Words fail me on his ineptitude in each and every way.

As someone once said "somewhere there's a village missing an idiot"

How tough is it to have great fleet and revenue growth in a market that is still in infacy? Been there, done that. Beat your chest hero, remember what it feels like. It won't last forever.

I would not say the scottish market is in its infancy! The market here is very competative here are the NATIONAL companies that currently opperate:
- Good News Self Drive
- Mitchels
- Speedy
- Arnold Clark
- Hertz
- Avis
- celtic
- EuroCar
- Alamo
- Thrifty
- Easy Car
- LLB
- National
- BNB
- Advantage
----etc

Many of which have been opperating for some considerable time. With a population of only 5 million, the market is competative. Enterprise has gained market share, whilst the others have lost.

Make sure you get your facts straight next time.... jk
