Just to go completely off on a tangent.....from all the irritated ex-employees on this thread's ranting about how unfair the 300 quid excess is (and I agree, I had to pay it once, the bastards), you can kind of understand why the customers get so pissed off when ERAC try and charge THEM a huge excess, even if there is no other ERAC could really go about it.

its disgusting, not only to you have to pay, but you get a disciplinary hearing, you spend all day driving, with no rest breaks and the branch calling you (yes on your own mobile) when they know you are (or likey to be) driving.
its a joke

Typical enterprise:
Rule no 1a. Dont answer your personal mobile whilst at work, expecially when driving and never infront of customers.
Rule no 1b. You must at all times even when driving with a mother and 3 kids in heavy traffic and bad weather answer your phone to be diverted elsewhere.
Rule no 2a. The company expects you to be reachable at all times whilst out of the office and to call if their are any problems or delays.
Rule no 2b. The company will under no circumstances supply or refund your mobile communications costs , be they equipment or usage.

Guess you have not heard that all emps can and should claim back £5 a month for mob call costs. I kwow it's not the world, but is pisses all over what you have just said!!!!

As for no breaks, start doing your jobs properly, be organised, and everyone gets a break.

This site should really be called failing idiots, it's not the company thats the failure, it's the people whom post negative comments regarding the business, whilst in many cases still working for the company.

Lets take for example, the bm's that post on this site, then complain all day that they can't obtain or retain staff.!!!!

What a joke.

Perhaps they realise that their staff are right? Does one member leaving exacerbate the manager going (or vice versa)?

if you think the £5/month scheme is ok considering that

1) it is such a pain in the arse to process the claim and 2) considering as an erac mt you will spend at least £20-40 per month on essential calls from your own mobile,

--your aspirations in life are clearly made out of the same stuff as your brains. shit.

IMHO the 8moss is a creation by erac to spout the green shit on this site, anyone who has worked for enterprise , and who is honest with themselves will admit that they employ wholesale shoddy practices with employee's and customers alike.

the career path is a joke, pay is piss poor, the hours are long and the treatment of employees is dreadfull. most erac senior managers are in position due to their ability to tow the green line, and have a 'yes' mentality and go along with the most ridiculous half witted ideas thought up by the GM in order that he can appear to make his/her group perform.
and this is the core of the problem. erac are the antichrist to creative thinking,

on the positive side (!), they do a great job in manipulating employees (until the penny drops or they are given a level 3 job) into working like dogs and sacrificing home lives and diginity to rent cars.

the 8moss clearly is some way off from realising this, i feel pitty for him, i was once there, in the state of ignorance, gladly, due to and average education and a fully functioning brain i realised quickly that what erac like to think they offer, is so far from the truth is untrue!

Personally I just used the petrol card to fill my own car up for most of the time I was there - never mind the tesco club card points I built up on numerous corp fill ups - Something good came from ERAC.

as 8moss obviously works for Enterprise why not now send out a group U4 wide email asking each rental employee how much they can claim back - even if they can claim back?

Over 50% will say nothing I assure you. And here I believe is the heart of the problem in that there is a clear lack of communication and miscommunication from all at Admin level - mainly insulated and without an understanding of rental (include all level 3's here)- how do you expect them to do their jobs correctly?

Tell your employees then can claim £5back.
