Default News from Germany / Hot

G4 (Stuttgart), G7 (Hanover), and G8(Leipzig) are closing down. All level 3 employees are allowed to stay according to info. All others were offered 1/2 of their salary and sent bye-bye. I don't believe they made an "official" announcement, just told them thanks and here is your compensatory package. Fred G. is going back to the admin in Frankfurt (I think that is G3?) and who knows from there. anybody have anything new?

Man, we get to witness some serious history here. All those years ERAC has been priding themselves of being the company that never once laid off an employee. Well, there goes that piece.

I wonder if this is the beginning of the end, even for those folks in the states...

Were there any redundancies when Northern Ireland and Scotland merged?

Things in the US are still going strong (unfortunately), so lay offs are not really happening over here. However I know that in Germany things are going south very fast. Shutting down 3 offices is only the first step towards the end.

Default The Beginning of the End

So in interviews recruiters can't say they never had to close a branch or lay anyone off, so much for that. Let's hope this happens soon in the US.

I've been around a long time and I've not heard of these branches closing. Last figures I saw an our annual meeting show Germany doing well. They were not losing money at all.... or worried.
I know sometimes we've opened offices where it turned out it wasn't an ideal location and we've had to move them. Could this be the case? OR could we be consolidating a couple that are really small and could be costing a lot of cash for rent? Maybe they are consolidating. I'd like to hear from the so called people who were laid off...
