People...broad generalizations never work. Both Germans and Americans have their sweeping successes and the horrible skeletons from the past. And no, it is not even an apples to apples comparison.

I would consider myself to be more conservative than liberal, but understand the horrific situation we find ourselves (being American) in Iraq and Afghanistan...but what is the alternative. Europe and America are as different as night and day. And for you Germans to come on this thread and insult us as being idiots for taking a different approach, that is shortsighted and ignorant.

I love being an American, I take pride in it...on the other hand, I understand the global hatred for my country. Overall, we ARE arrogant. I hate that fact. My ancestry is mostly German, so I have nothing but love for Germany and her people. I have been to Germany a few times and have loved the people, the culture, and everything about it. I just wish that their contempt for Americans was not so abundant. I was accepted and loved and cheered whenever I met Germans...until I told them I was American and not Canadian or something different. There are a lot of bias' on both sides of the line.

ERAC didnt work because the company is narrow minded and abuses their workforce and screws the customer. Germans probably wisened up to this moreso than Americans.

previous posters have written about sensationalistic American media...calling Republicans, Christians, Jewish-Zionists , and the like "loosers" (sic). I agree that American's can be close minded and arrogant...but dont label all of us the same. We are just people trying to enjoy our way of life and not cave to radicals who hate us for who we are.
