I'm glad someone finally pointed this out. He's sold on the same exaggerations that everyone bleeding green at Enterprise has been sold on. They all say something along the lines of, "I made 39k right now and I'm on path to make 80k in less than..." The Enterprise trainer told all of us that we would make 80k as branch managers in about 2 years, then area managers make 150k+, then regional manager where you'll be raking in 400k, and so on.
My point is that never ever have I heard someone bragging about how many much they're making now, but how much they're projected to make in the future. All insurance sales companies tell their employees that they're projected to make 60k in the first year, 90k the second year, 120k the third year, 180k the 4th year, and 250k+ the 5th year and so on. But when you get smart and ask them what is the average income per employee, they say something like 30k and quickly add, "But you don't want to be average, you want to be exceptional!" So basically, if you're perfect, you'll make that much, plus much more for your employer because they will be taking a big cut of what you really earned.
Oh by the way, I'm currently typing this at work with my customized ergonomic chair built just for me paid by my employer, my personal new computer, and my own office space. This is all for a fresh college graduate and a former employee of ERAC. I get also get free massages by professionals and free lunches by the company whenever and as long as I want. My current employer does not wave a piece of cheese around and treat me as if I'm a mouse, telling me how much I'm projected to make as none of that is really set in stone. The company is presently giving me the money that I want and treating me with a lot of benefits and perks, thus greatly valuing me as an employee for them. My boss currently makes more than what the VP of 32AA makes, but no one needs to tell me how much I can be making at his level to keep me motivated.
