I could not serve because I live my life openly as a homosexual. The oppressive U.S. military does not want me....still waiting.......

Here is an important endorsement for Barack Obama:

PARCHMAN — Before he died Wednesday evening, death row inmate Dale Leo Bishop apologized to his victim's family, thanked America and urged people to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

"For those who oppose the death penalty and want to see it end, our best bet is to vote for Barack Obama because his supporters have been working behind the scenes to end this practice," Bishop said.

Bishop, 34, was pronounced dead by lethal injection at 6:14 p.m. - the second inmate put to death in Mississippi in two months. Earl Wesley Berry, 49, was executed May 21.

The execution culminated a flurry of last-minute appeals that began late last month seeking to save Bishop's life.

A Lee County jury convicted Bishop in 2000 of participating in the murder of Marcus Gentry, who was beaten to death in December 1998 with a claw hammer. His body was found along a logging road near Saltillo.

In late 1983, Ronald Reagan issued National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) 114, dated November 26, 1983, concerned specifically with U.S. policy toward the Iran-Iraq war. The directive reflects the administration's priorities: it calls for heightened regional military cooperation to defend oil facilities, and measures to improve U.S. military capabilities in the Persian Gulf, and directs the secretaries of state and defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to take appropriate measures to respond to tensions in the area. It states, "Because of the real and psychological impact of a curtailment in the flow of oil from the Persian Gulf on the international economic system, we must assure our readiness to deal promptly with actions aimed at disrupting that traffic." It does not mention chemical weapons [Document 26].

Soon thereafter, Donald Rumsfeld (who had served in various positions in the Nixon and Ford administrations, including as President Ford's defense secretary, and at this time headed the multinational pharmaceutical company G.D. Searle & Co.) was dispatched to the Middle East as a presidential envoy. His December 1983 tour of regional capitals included Baghdad, where he was to establish "direct contact between an envoy of President Reagan and President Saddam Hussein," while emphasizing "his close relationship" with the president [Document 28]. Rumsfeld met with Saddam, and the two discussed regional issues of mutual interest, shared enmity toward Iran and Syria, and the U.S.'s efforts to find alternative routes to transport Iraq's oil; its facilities in the Persian Gulf had been shut down by Iran, and Iran's ally, Syria, had cut off a pipeline that transported Iraqi oil through its territory. Rumsfeld made no reference to chemical weapons, according to detailed notes on the meeting [Document 31].

Rumsfeld also met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz, and the two agreed, "the U.S. and Iraq shared many common interests." Rumsfeld affirmed the Reagan administration's "willingness to do more" regarding the Iran-Iraq war, but "made clear that our efforts to assist were inhibited by certain things that made it difficult for us, citing the use of chemical weapons, possible escalation in the Gulf, and human rights." He then moved on to other U.S. concerns [Document 32]. Later, Rumsfeld was assured by the U.S. interests section that Iraq's leadership had been "extremely pleased" with the visit, and that "Tariq Aziz had gone out of his way to praise Rumsfeld as a person" [Document 36 and Document 37].
Read the previous post again Bonzo. I'm just saying Reagan had a strategic vision of using Iraq as a counter to Iran. If you don't believe Reagan's vision then you and Robert must support the mullahs in Iran. The last five years of instability in Iraq has actually emboldened Iran since Saddams exit. Saddam was a necessary evil to subvert Iran.

Saddam was easy to buy off we did it with weapons in the 80s. He was an egotist-he didn't trust Al-queda and certainly didn't want to share power with anyone.

I would love for the draft to come back because you pussy war mongers that continually shout empty slogans would scream the loudest getting your ass drafted. So again, I am waiting...why aren't you enlisting?

Obama's speech in Germany today was awesome! He is really going to work hard when he is the President to get the USA back into the world community and get us out of Iraq. America should never be in a foreign land anyways, we are a barbarian socirty. Look at our murder rate, look at the violence you see in TV and video games. Obama will bring the country back to a better place morally and spiritually. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are horrible crimes against humanity, Bush and Cheney should be prosecuted as war criminals as well as General Betrayus. Sept. 11th was not Iraq's fault and Bin Laden wasn't even in Afghanistan! We are fighting a ghost, Obama will get us out of those places and focus on education, free health care, AIDS, hunger, and homlessness. There needs to be a serious redistribution of wealth, CEOS make way too much compared to Joe 6 pack on the assembly line. People over 100K need a heavier tax burden, otherwise we become a slave state. People at he bottom work for nothing and make the fat cats on top rich. It is insane! Obama will make sure those people who make obscene paychecks pay their fair share. Obama will also cut the military budget like it should be cut and focus on Katrina rebuilding, jobs programs, college education programs, and helping families in crisis. Vote Obama to bring America back!!
