Did you know that in 2003 President Bush proposed significant regulatory overhauls in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis and that it was blocked on party lines by Democrats. Don't get me wrong I am not deliriously happy with the Bush presidency but I believe Kerry would have been much worse.

As far as Obama goes and his first decision being Biden? I don't think so. But lets say that was a first decision. Biden is a dumbass. His great idea of partitioning Iraq into three distinct sections was so stupid it doesn't even merit debate. He said the surge would be an absolute failure. He tends to ramble on and on until he says something stupid. Reminds me of Quayle. Lets look at the history of Obama's decision, we wont even go into the Rev Wright or other bad decisions he made before declaring to run those have been beat to death. First Obama has made a very big deal about McCain hiring Lobbyists then turns around and not only hires lobbyists himslf but also hires Jim Johnson, ex Fannie Mae CEO, and Franklin Raines another ex CEO of Fannie Mae.

How about foreign relations? David Shapiro, a lobbyist for big oil who also has ties to Fannie Mae. Obama has shrieked about the oppressive nature of Big Oil and the failures of Freddie Mac and the entire housing and lending industry. What does it say about Obama that he hired a man who represented both as a lobbyist

And what about McCain?

Here is a quote from McCain in 2006 when he was supporting a bill that might have avoided the current crisis.

I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.

a note on this is that it was shot down by democrats.

So what we have is McCain is on the record as saying that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are corrupt, deceitful and that their failure could be disastrous for this country so, for the love of God!, can we please reign them in!

Obama, meanwhile, looks at two of the guys who helped run Fannie Mae into the ground and says to himself, "You know... those are the people I want telling me what to do with the economy." Not only that, in four short years as a Senator, he took over $100,000 dollars from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

MCcCain has all the same baggage on his side of the ledger, so consider everything. Having said that you were always voting Republican and I can't vote.

You're right for the most part. We can all cherry pick. As for voting republican? For president you would be right. As for congress and senate we have pretty centrist democrats in Nebraska and the republicans tend to go to far right so for them most part I have voted democrat. I have just never seen and probably will not see a centrist democrat run for prez.

She's an evangelical christian(code word for idiot), her husband is an oil field worker, and she has a pregnant, unwed 17 year old daughter. Yep, the Republicans are once again courting the white trash vote.

I think it's pretty apparent at this point the Republicans are throwing the election. Nobody could possibly be that stupid to pick a running mate with such an unimpressive pedigree and list of accomplishments.
Colorado Poll Sept 23
Barack Obama 51
John McCain 44

Sarah Palin's popularity with Colorado voters over the last couple weeks has plummeted, and as it has Barack Obama has opened up his biggest lead yet in a PPP survey of the state.

Pssst... your husband/wife is having an affair.
Must be true.. it is in print... or on MSNBC...
Governor Palin's favorability is slipping due to the fact that she continues to openly lie about her record, despite proof to the contrary and the fact that the campaign refuses to let her take questions from the media. The public is only so stupid. You can't win an election solely blaming the "liberal" media for every thing that is said about your V.P. selection they don't find favorable. That's just the facts ma'am

Yes, Obama is ahead and so was Kerry at this time in 2004.
