| I have been reading these boards and understand the long hours, low pay, washing cars in my suit, etc. I agree that these things do not sound so great. What caused me to look into working for ERAC was the possibility to work for a company that has locations around the country and world. I am single and like to travel but that means either trying to travel on two weeks of paid time off a year or moving to a new place and trying to find a new job. I look at a company like ERAC and wonder could I work for that company and after I got through the initial training period (I've been told that would be about a year) and then every 6 months or a year apply for an open position in another state or country? I understand the work is hard and all of that but if I get out of it a chance to see the world while not having to worry about running out of money or getting a new job I could handle what might be described as "poor" working conditions. Can anyone reading this comment from personal experience about moving to different ERAC offices around the country/world? If you have moved to another company that has allowed you to do this better than might be possible at ERAC I would also love to hear your experience. Thanks! |

| Don't do it. It will be the worst mistake you ever make. Let me give you the real story about the "Enterprise Dream" they are trying to sell you... A) You will work long hours...so kiss your personal and family life goodbye B) Sure if you work hard you can apply for a promotion...that doesn't mean that your going to get it and on top of that by that time you are too exhausted to even go for it.... C) If you apply for a job within another region you will lose your senority, hate to say it but they don't tell you that. So, if you work your way up to being a branch manager and you transfer to another region, you would have to apply for a management trainee position. They only way those promotions work were you would stay in a higher position or better is if you were applying for a regional or group position. Also, if you wanted to go work in another country like Germany or England you would have to be at a branch manager level or above. They won't transfer you if you are an MT. D) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: Keep looking and I guarantee you will find a position that allows you to travel but not get yourself exhausted at the same time. Trust me, you do not want to take a position there. You will be much better and happier somewhere else. Hope this helps. Best of luck! |

yeah man, he's right, 13 hour days for 30K a year are pretty much the same no matter where you are. |
