I think everyone here who is bashing the rental car industry really think that the corporate, capitalist society we live in is always fair, honest, and easy. True! who wants to have to work so many hours per week. And who really wants to have to deal with peoples bullshit. And lastly, who wants to wash cars in suits and who feels that since they have a Bachelors Degree that they should have it made. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD. Enterprise is a Enterprise because it is a business that uses business techniques to stay ahead of the game and pull in the big ass bucks. What company do you know of that always tells the truth to its customers, How many Pharma reps will actually tell you the details about Premarin and what messed up stuff they do to a horse in order to make this drug as well as the long term side effects. The casino industry is built on lies and greed, scams the chase of a winning jackpot etc.... How many car dealers tell the truth or nothing but the truth, Hell even the President has a job where he lies all day. This is the WORLD people and nothing is peachy, not even waking up in the morning is peaceful, as soon as you get up your stomache hurts...cuz you are hungry, you are rushing, and there is always something that HAS to get done.

ALSO< just because I went to college does not mean any one else is supposed to care, Its more for the personal benefit of being educated and knowledgeable and will pay off in the long run. Most jobs require you to have certain skills such as people skills, self motivation skills, etc..... A Degree is really only going to pay off immediately if you go into a profession such as MD, Lawyer, Teacher, VET, Therapist, etc. And then you still have to acquire additional education and/or licensing. In this situation you need to grow up Senior Year in Highschool and evaluate your own personal situation. Challenge the Oppportunity costs for yourself, SCHOOL then WORK, or WORK plus SCHOOL< or JUST WORK.
Where in college do you learn how to negotiate, budget, and be personable.
No WHERE< but you learn book sense.
Plus if you think positive you will find their is positivity in everything you do. ERAC might not be the place for you, but do not knock someone else from taking on the challenge. My church and Family comes first and ERAC is closed on Sundays and the opportunity to make Money to support my child is there. Everyone situation is different. Currently I work for a company that literally takes people and ruins their lives. I work for a Casino in the Casino Marketing Department, where I work nights, holidays are black out, and no one gets a weekend off. Smoking is everywhere (AUTOMATIC DEATH SENTENCE) and you literally have to lie and promote gambling to a person who just gambled his/her mortgage, savings, and max out credit which is hard on the heart, however the company provides great excellent benefits, they pay well, and the people you work with or wonderful, extra incentives, bonuses, and they have excellent PR. But the industry was not for me.

Also, their is politics involved in every company, sex with co workers is not foreign, etc....... WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS AND YOU NEVER DEPEND ON MAN/WOMAN YOU DEPEND ON YOURSELF TO LISTEN TO THE HIGHER POWER TO GUIDE YOU AND HELP YOU RESIST TEMPTATIONS OF SEX< GREED< LIES< ETC.

If a company tells you that their business runs on selling extra insurance and you need a job and you know the company is stable and great opportunity then you personally need to do whatever to sell that insurance, if you can't cuz you just do not want to lie to the customer then get out, but that is with any COMPANY not just ERAC and HERTZ.

Now as for as the customer is always right> WRONG we all know that we are all customers at some point, meaning we know sometimes we bitch and catch a fit and the person who we are doing it to didn't even do us anything, but hey even if you take a walk to the corner store, someone is more than likely going to piss you off. However it is up to you to let it take you off your game or whatever. It shows character when you can handle the heat.

Possibly alot of you all that are talking bad about these companies just haven't been through enough disappointment and heartache in life to know that you are blessed, and sometimes you have to pay your dues. Working for a rental car company is embarrassing I hear some of you say, IF I have a job and can provide as a single mother for my children or whatever the case may be then I could never be embarrased.

NEXT AND LAST WASHING CARS IN SUITS,
In order to be succesful in your own business or running a company business you have to know what it feels like to be in everyone who works for you SHOES.
GET off your high horse, too much pride can cause a man to be blinded and miss out on the value in what has been given to him.

I love you all, and wish everyone luck in whatever they decide to pursue in life. But lets stop with all of the hate, and namecalling, we live in a messed up world, just deal with it and DO YOU! NO ONE CAN TELL ME NOTHING!

I think that is the funniest thing I have ever heard in my entire life.. An ASM making 70k and a branch manager making 300k.. Get a real life, just by that ignorant comment you can see the real truth about Erac employees.. Now let's really tell everyone what a branch manager makes between 42-48k per yr working 60-65 hrs a week that is the truth...

I run the 2nd largest operation in the state and my life has dramatically improved since I made the switch.

I work a few more hours, but the comraderie that you get working for a company that truly cares for its employees is well worth it. Don't listen to what these idiots tell you about how bad the company is. True, my first year I made $30k, but my 2nd year as an Assistant Manager, I made $70k. Being a branch manager, I'm on pace to make $300,000 this year.

Not only has Enterprise had a strong financial impact on my life, it has taught me strong morals, ethics, and really has given me the satisfaction of knowing that I am making a difference in everybody's lives.
Hahaha, this has got to be sarcasm.

You are such a smarmy little lying tool. If you aren't a member of upper management posing as a branch manager I would be surprised. If you actually are a branch manager, you are lucky to make $60K and trust me, the only difference you make in people's lives is negative by fooling them into staying with a company that will not take care of them like they used to take care of their middle managers and who rips off the community and tries to build back public support by making $30K/year employees contribute to the United Joke, I mean United Way.
