Default ERAC OR MCDONALDS? YOU DECIDE WHICH IS BETTER

Below are links to the employment sections of the ERAC (Enterprise Rent-A-Car) and McDonalds websites. You decide which one is a better "opportunity."

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Careers - Opportunities

Crew

The answer is, in my opinion, there is no difference between the two jobs -- except that with McDonalds you get to stay in the store and out of the heat and cold, and you are not yelled at and threatened for not up-selling someone from a 6 to 12 piece chicken nuggets.

However, please take what I say with a grain of salt becuase, accoring to the ERAC employment website page:

"Everyday isn't so much like a workday as it is an MBA crash course. At Enterprise, you'll gain valuable and highly marketable skills in every aspect of business management from sales and marketing and developing a staff to customer service and accounting. Yet, we're not all business all the time. Enterprise is also a tight knit culture, where great people really enjoy each other's company both in and outside of work."

(At least McDonald's has the guts to say "we're McDonald's it is what it is - that's why we even give you hints on how to dress and act in your interview with us." Enterprise relies on the propoganda statement above to get recruits -- pathetic. I was a BM for 2 years, but I never saw myself as anything more that the equivalent of a Denny's or Foot Locker manager. However, many of my peers were and still drink up nonsense like the abive statement.)

McDonald's is probably the better of the two "career paths" long term. At McDonald's, you do not have to sell fake insurance to keep your job. And the higher-level positions (store mgr, district mgr, RVP) are likely within better reach than that of ERAC.

I agree....no way in hell am I working at Mickie D's tho....that's the epitome of a job nobody really wants....how many people have that as a career goal?

I went to an ERAC branch to look at the employees and I went to see about renting a car and I have to say I respect McDonald's people more however...you poor fucks who work or have worked for ERAC have either made you scumbags or you were one prior and that job just fit your personality....fucking rent-a-car people make used car salesmen look like Mother Teresa

I agree, I was asked by may RVP what I thought of ERAC. I told him-"There comes a time when you have to look at the people you are associated with and decide if this is how you want to be viewed." All I got was a blank look in return.

I've done both, work at ERAC and sell cars. They are almost the same except you can make more money selling cars.
