Default Hourly pay is 10.55???

what does that equate to before or after taxes monthly? what are people really making? how does overtime work? is it 40 hours and then 15-20 hours of overtime you make? any help would be appreciated...i know people say you make jack working here, so I really want to know the truth on how much MT's make their first year...thanks

I started in group 43 North Florida making $9.23 working all day without lunch. So, that is 7:30 to ^&*%$#%%^&^ I don't know lets say the average day ended about 6:30 so about eleven hours and then 9:30 to 12:00 on Saturday. I almost always worked Saturday so that would be 57.5 hours HA. Most weeks I worked 60. My First and Second Manager, both of witch I like very much, told me all the time they could not afford me. About half the time my Ass. Manager only made 10 dollars more than me a week but, he is from another country and that makes him even more a slave. My checks were between 700.00 dollars and 985.00 every two weeks; not to say I did not sell cars but that money went right to buy groceries or something I needed but had been without. I believe Southern California and Phoniex Arizona get paid as much as 10.55 but that is a high high hourly quot. What they don't tell you is this is a Sales job with no bonus no life and no future. So around 27,000 but take home baby is where its at, read the thread I wrote about what I'm doing now.

"Why are you helping these people?" "Well if I can save one that would be worth it." "Your having to much fun to stop." "Yes but not forever." "Remember money is not real. The Government of the US will tell you on the phone it is not really money." "Oh yeah."

in group 50 (phoenix) MTs make $10.02 per hour and $15.03 overtime. take home about $850 or so for 2 weeks. After 3 or 4 months you should get a $500 bonus for passing your skills test, and you can also get a $100 bonus each month that your branch has an ESQi of 80. I know a lot of people that grilled in their first year, which was another $1000. $30,000-$32,000 is realistic (at least in proup 50) first year. AM's don't make much more money than that because they lose the overtime. So you can make some money, but you won't get rich. I know that pay varies depending on what group you are in. Having said all that, I was there less than a year and moved on to a better job and a 20% raise, and the best part was that it was a customer that came in to rent who recruited me to my new career. So I can honestly say that without Enterprise I would not be where I am today

in my interview in austin,tx, the starting pay was 9.98 hr. i suspect the reason they have hired 6000 college graduates per year is a word called "churn". they factor in the expected turn over and expect it. if they hire 6000 new college graduates per year for 5 years in a row, that would be 30,000 employees. the web site says they have 57,000 employees. common sense tells you that those college graduates must not stick around for very long. there is a reason for the high turn over. i suspect most graduates will never see that branch mgr position and leave the company after about a year of abuse. i was told by the recruiter that it was impossible to have in stock every car that is confirmed by reservation over their internet site. this to me is a classic bait and switch organization. i also was told that you were expected to wash and vacumn cars at any given time even in this 100 degree texas heat while dressed in slacks, shirt and tie. i would be a puddle of sweat, broken out in acne while waiting on customers if i did that, where are the lot attendents for that, i was told you have to maximize profit.......

Yes, when you start working with Enterprise the pay is low but the experience obtained is beyond recognizable in any resume. My name is Wendy and I started working with ERAC a week after my college graduation from UCLA. I am proud to stay that June 2006, will be my 2 year mark. Do I have any regrets? No! Which job will give you experience in fields of customer service, sales, and marketing? While working with ERAC different companies have offered me positions because they recognize that ERAC only hires top notch educated individuals. Furthermore, once you grill the opportnites are tremendous. I take great pride in taking away business from our competitors because I know that no other rental car agency will offer the same service we do. It is no wonder why even Hertz is eating out dust. Failing Enterprise? I DON'T THINK SO!! IT WILL KEEP GROWING AND GROWING. If ERAC were considered to be a public co, it would be part of Fortune 200, but it's private, it prefers to share the wealth amongst its employees through profit sharing. I recommend ERAC to any college student.

Hi Wendy. We welcome you and your crack pipe. What was the company's US fleet growth for the FY that just ended? How about if you back out airports?

Wendy, I'm glad you like it so much, and there will be MANY, MANY people on this board that will rip you apart for what you said so be prepared.

But the opportunities you speak of only come from replacing people that quit the company, or positions that open because a new office was created which will work in the territory of an old office, thereby cutting the profit from someone's livelihood who worked so hard to grow their branch.

Or the opportunity is a position created to further add to the sham of opportunity such as the Regional Rental Manager. They are just dividing up the proverbial pie even more, not generating more profit.

It's an illusion of opportunity.

And 'prefers to share the wealth amongst its employees through profit sharing' is laughable. Any company worth its' salt will match employee contributions to 401(k) from the first day an employee is eligible. Enterprise figured out a long time ago the vast majority of its' employees will not see 7+ years with the company, so they make that the vested date in order to fully share the wealth of profits. And the other little tidbit they fail to mention to you is your contribution to the wonderful profit sharing plan is based on what your length of service is on July 31st of each year. What does that mean to you? Well someone who starts in August works the entire year for free on the profit sharing plan, because when July 31 rolls around, they have officially been with the company 0 years! Yet another way ERAC can lessen its' employees pockets... the good ole 'length of service' clause. That's why you see a mass exodus of upper management, or other tenured employees, in the months of August, September and October.

The profit numbers are mythical anyway. There is always a 'screw' factor. By and large the numbers are manipulated each and every month to even out net profit because the higher ups get paid off net profit and they want to avoid wild fluctuations in their paychecks. Believe me it's more than a coincidence that when OP is up, flip is down, and vice versa.

Just wait until you get to manager and they practically force you to pay them $200/month to be on 'the plan'. Yet even though you work for a rental car company, with cars coming out of their ears, you have to pay them to get a company car? And there are restrictions on it? It never made sense to me.

I hope your bubble with Enterprise doesn't ever burst. And I hope you go very far with the company. Just know that when the 'air is let out of your balloon', get out quickly. Don't linger and think you can't get another job because you work retail in the rental car business. You have already stated that you have received other job offers working there. One day you will do yourself well to take one of those jobs.

I know I sound bitter, and clearly I am a former employee, but believe me when I tell you that I was one of the rare people who got to go behind the curtain and see the great and powerful Oz pulling all the levers and making things happen. I'm not bitter. I learned a lot working there and mostly enjoyed it, but it is a stepping stone job for 99% of the people there. Good luck.
