Default My interview experience at Enterprise.

I recently relocated back to my hometown and "scored" an interview with Enterprise. Now, I wasn't too excited about going to interview since I had read such bad reviews about the company, but I figured a job at Enterprise would be better than no job at all. Low and behold, I interview, and it seemed to go well and the guy gave me his card at the end and told me to contact him if I had any questions later on.

Fast-forward 4 or so hours, what do I get in my email? The regional manager (a female) sending some crap about "pursuing other candidates". lol You'd think the guy would have had enough balls to tell me then. lol

It is common courtesy and very professional-like to not reject the interviewee in person during or right after the interview. All professional companies send a rejection letter or an email when a candidate does not fit the description to what they were looking for. You probably didn't sell yourself too well at the interview and thought that Enterprise was a joke. While it's not a great job, it is still like any other job such as Target and insurance sales companies where you are seriously interviewed like a professional. With the current economy and the job market being so bearish right now, there are more candidates applying for the job than there is the usual demand for it; therefore, Enterprise is able to be a little more picky than they usually are.

By the way, you sound like as if you're just looking for a job just to get a job. Most companies don't like that at all. Having a career is better than having no career, so you should probably take it more seriously.

I appreciate your feedback, however, I did take the interview seriously. I dressed appropriately in a suit and asked questions and did NOT mention that I had read anything online about the company, other than mentioning that I read up on the company on enterprise.com. I just think the guy didn't like how direct my personality is and how I asked him a lot of questions. I wasn't that "excited" about the "opportunity" after the interview anyways... to get anywhere, I'd have to move from town to town, thus, never being able to really "settle down" and the 30,000 a year includes over time. Thanks but no thanks.

Its kind of funny how people think that ERAC will just take anybody. I remember when there was 6 people who came in one day to interview, out of the 6, only 1 got offer the next interview.

I make more money right out of college working half the hours you do. How do you like that?

And what was wrong with my message to him? Are you still trying to recruit people? Face it, ERAC is for people that screwed up in college and couldn't find a real job that requires valuable skillset.
