Why would a company encourage alcohol consumption? Also, what if it's against a persons religion to drink alcohol?
| |||
Are you Mormon? If so, tell them it is against your religion. They may laugh at you behind your back, but if you can prove they are discriminating against you for not drinking alcohol as a result of your religious beliefs, you can sue them. It would be a hard case to say the least. Why do you want to work there anyway? I should have said lying to people was against my religion too, but then how would they expect me to sell Damage Waiver or upgrade people into more expensive cars when the ones they reserved were not there? Now you wonder why good, honest people leave that place. "Honesty and integrity are the foundation of our success." LOL

All the shitty bear you could drink after meetings. BM's drive their branch car home drunk. Good times. It is all an attempt to build a social atmosphere in the company, like a fraternity. People think they're hot shit when they party in their 20's. I'll drink to my future... oh wait.

There is people at the branch that I work at that don't drink, and no one has a problem with it But then again, it seems that the ERAC I work in, seems to be the exception from every other ERAC in world. And no, I'm not naive, the lying to customers is still present, but the atmosphere is TOTALLY different.

The thing they hate is when you don't go to your regional events. They don't care if you drink or not but if you play well with others.

You won't get fired. It will throw people off guard though. I had a buddy of mine from high school who coincidentally worked at ERAC with me. My friend couldn't drink more than one beer, he developed diabeties in college (from too much drinking) and had to watch the amount of alcohol he consummed. At all the ERAC functions people were like "Why aren't you drinking, you should throw back a few, blah blah blah." If you don't drink you will have to explain to everyone why it is you don't drink, but you wont get fired for it.
